Easy to read and user friendly clock with really no annoying features
The Peakeep and the Pluteck clocks look like they could be identical, so I bought one of each to find out. They are identical in some ways but not completely. I like this Peakeep clock a little better. The knobs and switches on the Peakeep are a lot more ergonomic than the ones on the Pluteck. That's kind of important on an alarm clock, because you will probably be handling it every day. That is the main difference I can see between the 2 clocks. Both clocks have the same limitation on battery voltage, but the Peakeep actually tells you about it on the instruction sheet that comes with the clock, and the Pluteck says nothing about it. Basically, rechargeable batteries like NiMh are not recommended because their voltage is a little lower than the regular alkaline type batteries. If you put in a new alkaline AA or even a used one that measures more than 1.42 volts, everything works. Once the voltage falls below about 1.4 volts, the snooze and the light will quit working, but the clock still runs and the alarm will still go off. So if the light or the snooze feature on your clock all of a sudden quits working but the clock still runs, don't worry, all you need is a new battery! I like this clock. It has a clear, easy to read face and hands, and every function about it is totally obvious. It is nearly silent, I can't hear it at all from 1 foot away. I am using it to replace a 30 year old Seiko/Lorus clock that has been the most amazing thing all these years and has taken many falls to the floor with no damage. This $9 Peakeep is not in the same class as far as build quality. But for the price I think it deserves 5 stars. Update Feb 2019: 6 months ago I put a freshly charged Panasonic eneloop battery (NiMh) in this clock just to see how long it would run on one charge. It is still running. The light and snooze still work. This is great. I won't be burning up alkaline batteries in these clocks anymore. I took the eneloop out just to measure the voltage, then put the same eneloop back in without charging it. I want to see how much longer it goes. The voltage I measured at 1.276 volts. An alkaline will quit operating the light once it gets down below about 1.4 volts. This is not as strange as it might seem. Alkaline and NiMh batteries have a very different voltage versus load characteristic. The voltage of an alkaline will drop quite a bit as soon as the normal operating load is put on it. The voltage of a NiMh will hardly drop at all under the same load. I have bought 2 more of these clocks and all 3 of them are working the same, good, and quiet. Update December 30, 2019: Of the 3 of these I bought, one quit running after about 10 months. The 2nd one all of a sudden got noisy after being used for about 9 months. But it is only noisy when it is laying on its back. When it is standing up it is still pretty quiet, but not as quiet as when new. Both of those clocks spent about 8 hours per day "laying down" which is of course the most stable position when they are on a mattress. The 3rd clock has been going for 19 months and is still accurate and reasonably quiet, but not as quiet as when new. That clock just stands upright all the time in the front hall. It is not used as an alarm clock. I don't think it would be a good bedroom clock at this point (not quiet enough). I guess I could conclude that laying down is not good for these clocks. Or maybe that isn't it, maybe they just have a short life on the average, with a lot of variation from one to another. I have a way now of keeping the bedroom clock standing up all the time and I bought a 4th clock to use that way. I really like the simple ergonomics of this clock. I would gladly pay $20 or $30 each for these things if I knew they would be "forever" quality like my old Seiko/Lorus. But they are not. The Pluteck was worse - got very noisy almost immediately so I threw it away a long time ago.

A good basic alarm clock.
A bit clunky for traveling but works well for at home use. The size makes it easy to set accurately and the sound quality is not startling. The light feature is also convenient.

It doesn't work
Update 12/18/25. My initial review was negative because after 4 months the clock wasn't working properly. Immediately upon seeing my review, the company reached out to me, apologized, indicated that the clock had a 366 day warranty, and offered me a full refund. A company that stands by its product like that is ok in my book. The clock itself is fine. Does exactly what it says it will do. Product is garbage. After 5 months it's running about an hour slow every 24 hours. I've wasted several new batteries trying to get it run right, but it's the clock not the batteries. What good is a clock if it doesn't tell time?

Small travel alarm clock that is easy to use and inexpensive to purchase and operate.
This Travel Alarm Clock is small and easy to operate. I do not know how long it will hold up. I like it but have only had it about a week so far. The price is low, and it only uses one battery, so it is inexpensive to purchase and operate. The clock operation is soundless, but the alarm should wake most people up. Mine is black and I do not know if it comes in other colors.

Great little clock
I love the alarm that starts off kind of quiet and keeps getting louder until you hit the button. The "night light" is very bright and the numbers are easy to read. A great buy for small dollars.

Analog alarm clock
Love this little alarm clock. It works very well if I remember the turn the alarm on. I can push the snooze alarm and it lights up the face so I can see what time it is during the night. It's fist size so it is very easy to handle.

Nice Basic Alarm Clock
The alarm clock keeps good time. it is a good size for a bedside or travel, taking up minimal space but still being readable due to the straightforward design of the dial face and hands. The audio is exceptionally clear at all volume levels, even at full volume, which is plenty loud for personal use. The alarm time pointer is accurate as much as any small mechanical alarm can be. However, at alarm time it emits a sharp metallic "ping" as the alarm starts. I assume this is the internal trigger mechanism. If you did NOT turn on the alarm, the "ping" still occurs. The alarm does start somewhat softly and then increases in volume in steps, but the incremental volume steps are short, only a few (maybe 8?) seconds each. They should be longer, or what is the sense of having graduated volumes? Along with this, the initial volume needs to be lower than it is, at least for my sleepy ears. The light is better than shown in the item listing. In fact, it is about twice as bright as it needs to be for me to see the entire clock face clearly. About the no-tick feature and other reviewers' claims about the movement being noisy anyway: Yes, the hands run smoothly, but if I put my ear within about 3 inches of the clock I can hear a gritty sound like that of slowly pouring dry beans or rice into a bowl. This does not affect my sleep. I assume this is likely caused by a flywheel mechanism by which the clock motor still generates pulses, but smaller and more frequently than the one-second "clunks" other clocks have. I have another similar clock (from a different vendor) that became much noisier after a while, and then settled down to quiet again after 2 years. I am sure the mechanisms are not like those in fine watches, so manufacturing tolerances and the wear of the continuously rotating parts may be the cause of different levels of noise that different buyers experience. For the cost, the alarm clock does a good job.

best alarm clock i've had for years.

It is correct that this clock does not go ‘tick tock’ but it does make a fast tick tick noise, which does disturb me. I thought by the product description it would be silent, but it is not. Not happy.

I wanted to stop relying on my mobile as an alarm and the sound of a ticking clock drives me mad so this has been perfect ! Easy to use and simple.

Not the smallest clock for travelling, but price and quality great. Silent and good alarm.

Exactly what I was looking for. Doesn't make noise, has a snooze option and a night light. Hopefully it will last long!
