These are his favorite hiking shoes now. Dry quickly between uses, (some shoes you have to rotate, but not these), comfortable, he's always raving how he loves them. No more foot pain.

I love, love, love them for my chillier hikes. I don't use them in snowshoes without adding some insulators that I have. Likewise not quite warm enough for a snow hike... unless a warm Spring day.

A friend recommended Ultra after I mentioned I was looking for a new hiking shoe/boot. I only have 10 miles on them, so yes they are brand new, but these are one of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn! The fit for my foot is perfect, they are comfortable at the heel and have a great fit at the ball of my foot, which is where so many shoes are too tight. The shoes are light and very comfortable on the trail. I have not gone through water in them and therefore didn't have anything to report on their water resistance.

These are great, fit great. So comfortable. Only mark against which is kind of major is that they don’t really hold up to the average wear of what you do in hiking boots. Not as bad as hoka but still they are not made to last.

When I received the trail shoes they were extremely tight. I wear a size 9 2E (New Balance shoes) and have a high instep. Shoes that fit are hard to find and ones the fit usually require some modifications. Most of the time just changing the insoles and lacing method does the trick.For the Altra trail shoes I tried 4 different insoles. The insoles the shoes came with, no insoles, the short insoles I was using in my New Balance trail shoes, and old style flat insole material. Plus I tried a few lacing variations. I found that the combo of old style insoles cut short so I could wiggle my toes and a lacing variation for a high instep made the Altra trail shoes very comfortable.Also the mens size 9 Altra trail shoe has enough room for my wool socks without feeling tight.

I like that they're comfortable and lightweight, however, I bought because I was looking for footwear that can repel water (dewy grass) and these didn’t hold up well. I wore for 7 months and where an everyday wear until now. Low quality material for my activities. My adidas Terrex’s held up longer. For the price I was hoping they would last longer than 7 months.

If I like an Altra shoe I will buy a second pair. I did notice on this pair that there are stitches securing the lip that protects the front of the shoe. When that lip comes unglued, the sole in front begins to fail, that has happened to three of the nine pairs of Lone Peak Altra's I have owned. Altra needs to make a conscientious change in making certain that, that lip in all Altra manufactured shoes have those four or five stitches.

At this point in my life I wear Altra exclusively. I have quite a few pair of different models and always go with the trail type shoes. I typically wear a 10.5 but sized up to 11 for these hikers to allow me to wear thicker socks. These red pair I purchased are so comfortable that I ordered a second pair in gray while they are on sale. These have become my daily wear shoes and my only complaint is the fact the tread is a bit noisy on hard floors.

Ces chaussures ont été soumises à rude épreuve durant un trek sur le sentier des Appalaches dans la réserve faunique de Matane, au Québec en août 2023. Il a plu 8 jours sur 11... donc adieu l'imperméabilité... Par contre, le temps de séchage a été plus rapide que ce à quoi je m'attendais... Mais dans l'ensemble, un excellent produit et surtout à cause de sa légèreté...

These are perfection. They are waterproof and versatile. I wear them everywhere, running, hiking, road trips, international travels.. I bring them everywhere. I have a broken back and ankle problems. I put about 30 miles on them every week. Extremely comfortable, easy to clean and durable. I highly recommend these when they go on sale.

At last! After trying so many different brands I’ve finally found a boot that allows my ridiculously splayed toes to wiggle as I walk. I ordered a size larger than my usual size as I have quite wide feet and these will be winter/wet/cold walking boots and I’ll be wearing thick socks. Can’t comment on waterproof qualities yet, but they’re so comfortable I’ll stick with this brand in future. I nearly sent them back as they felt too large but realised that it was just that I’ve never walked in shoes that didn’t cramp my toes. Perfect!
