Made from some sort of softwood, they're well put together. The roof is the same width as the sides, which would be useful for making a starling street, or for other birds that like nesting next to each other. I would prefer the roof to be a bit wider than the box, but for the price, they're a bargain.I bought the set of 4, with plans to modify them anyway, so they're almost perfect for me.

Perfect for small birds, simple, strong and sturdy, be nice if there was a perch but easily added my own with a drill and bit of dowling. A great buy

Not the most sturdy of products, (one has fell apart) could be repaired with wood glue and clamps.

These are great for putting up outside of the house. We have them slightly spaced apart ready for the small birds. We have treated them due to amount of rain and cold weather we get.

Dropped one it broke and hinges not good

Please do not purchase and waste your time with these boxes, the quality it rubbish, glued joints that is not even waterproof, joints not nailed or stapled or screwed timber not treated boxes all fell apart after being fitted outside for only 4 days
