Cocina criolla

There is a good array of Puerto Rican recipes. However, I found that some essential recipes are missing from this book.

This book was purchased as a gift for a Puerto Rican relative who saw our "much loved" copy and expressed a longing to have a copy, after enjoying a nostalgic meal prepared from a Cocina Criolla recipe."No problemo." I thought, it will make a nice present. But hold on, there seems to be slight hitch. It's only available as a Kindle edition? Research time! Sure enough, not only is this book out of print but the publisher no longer exists. There isn't even an ISBN for the hardbound book. After checking around on the Internet (some of the asking prices are astounding), I limped back to Amazon and decided to check their "used" category.Luckily I found a "Very Good" copy on Amazon's alternate availability listing. The price was right, the vendor was teriffic, it arrived in 3 days, and the quality was almost "Like New." I couldn't be more pleased. If your copy of Cocina Criolla is getting a little ragged, stained, and worn, you might want to grab a "used" copy while they are still available. Sure, the Kindle version will be around for quite awhile but there's nothing quite like a good, hardbound, cookbook when you're actually cooking, and it's also a good way to brush up on your Spanish while casually browsing for a new island experience.

This book is a classic, my mom bought this book in the 80’s in Puerto Rico. It brings me fond memories of helping her cook many delicious meals.

Como si tu abuela te explicase la cocina puertorriqueña. Lleno de recetas clásicas de comida sabrosa con influencias española y africana. Llama la atención el gran detalle de las medidas y las explicaciones. Si te gusta la cocina y la gastronomía caribeña este es un libro indispensable.Como punto negativo, que no contiene fotos, pero es de esperar ya que es un libro que tiene ya unos años.

Nada más tiene 75 ediciones este libro al momento, así que usted opine.
