Awesome mic, much better than a lavalier!
Fantastic mic for vocals. We use it mostly for spoken word, so can’t say much about singing quality.Get the 2mm cable, the 1mm cable doesn’t hold up well. Definitely follow the guidance on not putting sharp bends in it.If you’ve been using lavs, you’ll wonder why. This has equal volume independent of the speaker’s head position. Well worth the upgrade.

If you know anything about over the ear mics, ...
If you know anything about over the ear mics, this one is the way to go! Countryman has become an industry standard not only for reliability, but for consistency and overall sound quality. Price is very reasonable considering a normal replacement lapel mic is $150 and this is only $100 more. Do yourself a favor and buy the replacement cable so you're prepared for sennheiser packs or shure packs

Good Quality Audio!!! Handle carefully!
I have been working with Countryman earset Microphones for some years now. I have ALWAYS been impressed with the audio quality that they provide. I have used them with Sennheiser & Shure wireless bodypacks and like both set-ups as well. From church services to stage performances to graduations on a football field outside, the Countryman E6 Earset Mic has provided excellent quality sound every time. The only concern (not complaint) is you must be careful when handling the unit. After lots of use, the connector just below the ear loop can become loose, which can cause popping or static noises. However, this is only after many uses AND when users are not handling it carefully. As long as the E6 is treated with proper care, it will provide excellent audio quality without having to use a bulky headset.

These are great headset mics
We use these on VIP clients at a university. The E6 is a lightweight simple solution for these folks as long as you take a little time to get them on properly. This model has the slightly thicker cable which I am hoping will make them more durable than earlier models we ordered. Don't forget to get extra collar clips - they probably will go missing at some point - and they are necessary.

Very serviceable
The cord breaks every few years, but this works nicely, with good tone and comfort. Fair enough price.

Easily Break and Poor Customer Service (See Edit)
I'll give credit to Countryman for an awesome sounding mic out of the box; it's the mic that you love until you don't. You don't because it is extremely fragile, not just the cord, but the wire running within the earpiece. We used two of them at our chapel and both broke in the section that surrounds the ear.We called Countryman and sent both units in for service during the first few days of August 2023. I called later in August, after I had signature verification that the units had been received by Countryman, but had not heard anything from Countryman. I was told that it would be three months before they could even evaluate the earsets. Three and a half months later, I received a repair quote that was 90% of retail, when shipping is included (including shipping is fair because I can order new with free shipping from just about anywhere else). We did not replace the earsets, as our new pastor did not feel that the earpieces were comfortable or secure (personal preference). We went to an Audio-Technica AT831C Lapel, which sounds great, is built like a tank and was 1/3 of the price even including the additional parts that I purchased for termination compatible with Sennheiser wireless packs. We have a Countryman gooseneck that is also problematic, but I'm not going to even consider returning it for service. I'll just replace it with another brand, as we won't save any money via repair.(EDIT: The issue with the gooseneck was identified as a loose ground wire in an old terminal block. The Gooseneck works fine. I stand by my comments regarding the E6's and Countryman's poor customer service.)I would not buy another Countryman product because they don't stand behind their products and quality control appears to be lacking. If you do buy an E6, make sure that it will only be used by a single person so that adjustments are not required. Even with limited transitions between users, our result was that the E6's didn't hold up.I'd look at earsets where the wire does not run through a bendable earloop; this is simply a design flaw. A few of the single ears and most of the dual ear sets are constructed with wiring independent of the harness, which should hold up much better. If the E6's didn't sound great when new, I'd give these mics one star. I try to buy made in USA, but I can't justify it in the case of Countryman.
