Hooked!
I loved the second book in this series! While I really enjoyed the first book, I feel like this one is even better! Maybe it's because I have the world building and background from the first to really enjoy this installment. But I think I just like our leads much more! Charlotte is awkward but still a badass, I feel like I identified a little bit more with her. And we love an Emma Woodhouse character, are we supposed to like her? I personally always love complex characters like that more! Alex...handsome, pirate, Irish - what more could you want? I really loved that they just hit it off right away and while they still took time to figure out their emotions, I like that trope more than the "let's fight these feelings until the last 10% of the book". I also looooove that we continue with all the same characters from the first book, building on their story, and really giving us some beginning found family vibes (which I am a sucker for!). This book is whimsical, witty, romantic, and hilarious. There were so many times I laughed out loud or could be found with a huge grin on my face while I read. I can't wait to read the third book now! Definitely read this series and in order too! A++

Wanted to like this
I was looking forward to this one. The premise is charming, and the story not without humour. But the text could have used a firmer edit — there are grammatical and spelling errors which are disappointing and somewhat unprofessional. Can’t really recommend this book, sadly.

Bonkers. Brilliant!
Pride and prejudice meets pirates and witches. Wonderful turns of phrase, great characters. A very enjoyable read indeed! A delight!
