You get what you pay for.
Good quality cotton rope, nice and soft. I back braided both ends but it's still plenty long for it's intended use, which is as an aid in horse training. It's good for tying a leg up without having to worry about rope burns like you might get with a synthetic rope.

Good tug of war rope
Make sure to tie a knot in the end or it will unravel. Otherwise soft in the hands, good diameter and long enough for about 20 people to pull on it.

Good for dog chew toys
I bought 1 inch rope and received 3/4 inch rope. Check the thickness, see my pictures. The micrometer has been set to inches so it is displaying inches in tenths of an inch. 3/4 inch rope will display 7.5, a full inch will display 1.0.
