These are little snippets from, presumably, homilies on certain subjects, whittled down into 36 easy-to-read 2-5 page chapters, with everything conveyed in St. John Vianney's simple, affectionate manner of speaking. He doesn't mince words, and is very straightforward in his corrections of his flock, but always with that loving fondness that marks his work. He's the patron saint of priests for a good reason. Highly recommended for someone who's looking for an introduction to a great example of a great priest who sought to unite as many people as possible with God.

This is a very well written book containing, if you will, a set of rules for how to live your life. It covers in just a few pages all the major parts of the catholic faith. The first part of the book covers the twenty instructions on the catechism. Each instruction is just a few pages long. The second part of the book covers sixteen explanations and exhortations.A nice little book that you can read in a few hours and it really gets you thinking.

I think I bought more than 5 of this book and give it to my brother, sisters and friends. It is very easy to understand St Jean-Marie Vianney is truly the patron saint of the priest. Highly recommended!

The Cure of Ars was a man of faith and great humility. He devoted his entire life to saving souls by reconciling them with God as a confessor & as a catechist & preacher. His life, even without words is a catechism lesson in itself, however, the words he has left us are truly inspired. The best review I can give it to call on the Sacred Scripture & use the words of the Lord - 'And I will give you pastors according to my own heart, and they shall feed you with knowledge and doctrine.'
