Travelpro Maxlite 5 Softside Lightweight Underseat Carry-On Travel Tote, Overnight Weekender Bag

Love this bag. This is a sturdy bag with a good amount of space for a weekend getaway or to carry onto an airplane. I bought this specifically as a carryon for an airplane trip. The carry on I had used to fall off my roller suitcase all the time and it made me crazy. This one does not. The only negative is that it didn't fit well under the seat in front of me. I expected it to do that but it seems they changed the seats since my last flight and they were so low to the floor that it stuck out. It was sticking out but I hid it from the flight attendants. (don't tell on me!). I used this bag as a weekend bag because it seems like it has so much room for 2 days full of my stuff. I especially like the longer strap for carrying it on my shoulder. I used to have Travelpro luggage back in the day, so I trust this brand to be well made and long lasting. Would have liked other color options but I got the "pinkish' one. Sort of mauve. Not really an issue in buying the bag.

This is big enough to hold what I need, better than my old bag. Easy to organize. And very lightweight. Fits nicely on the handle of other travel pro luggage. And great color. Shipping was quick. The seller packaged this inside the suitcase I ordered, which I thought was a great way to do it rather than getting two separate boxes.

I got this to replace an older Travelpro bag. I was so attached to my old one but when it finally broke down I decided to get the next generation. Boy am I glad I went with my gut. This brand just has the best bags .. ever. It is SUPER light weight and holds up so well. The material is resilient yet light. The zippers are very smooth and the pockets are simply made to work. I loved the pattern on the inside. It really helped me find things since nothing blends in with plaid. The inside of the bag is a lot more spacious than you'd think. It also fits under the seat in front of you in a plane. It doesn't fit with ample amounts of space left over but it does fit. When it's full you may have to slide it under sideways but still, it works. I was able to pack lightly for a 3-day trip while fitting my small purse and overnight bag in it, too. Sidenote - *I went ahead and bought the spinner from the same Maxlite line. These two work like bread and butter. I'm sure the tote will sit on top of any wheeled baggage nicely but I definitely recommend getting these two as a set if you can. The bag also has a slight chemical smell to it so I had to keep it open to air it out for a few days. It was fine after that, though. One last thing is if the tote is not packed to be pretty full then it tends to go limp. This is really not an issue unless you are wanting it to fit snug/firmly on top of your wheeled luggage. If it is not full then the back strap that holds the bag against the retracting handle will have room to move around a bit.

It’s a great bag and lots will fit inside but I find it heavy to carry long distances in the airport if you are checking your roller bag and don’t have it available to stack on top of. The quality of the bag is very good and I always buy this brand.

This bag fits under a plane seat and is large and roomy. The outside zipper compartments make my airport travel necessities handy. The bottom feet keep the bag clean and sturdy.

I decided to purchase this item because I wanted a day to day tote that was like a duffle bag but more sturdy...something that would be soft yet hold it's own shape while sitting on the floor amd be smaller than a gym duffle and sort of stiffer. This is a great small duffle type bag. It can be utilized as an easy under the seat carry on but it can also be used as a work tote, Mom tote, car bag...you name it. I use it for my day to day travels as I need to have several things with me such as snacks, thermos, reading material, extra phone chargers, cosmetic bag...it holds it all and with still maintaining a light weight. I do have the travelpro luggage which I love. Specifically the carryon rolling bag and this bag fits right on top of it. It is soft but I dont find it unbalanced in any way. The most important feature for me was the inside open space design. Like an open concept feature. I love popping open the lid and being able to see what I have in all one spot. There is a zippered portion for your small items or perhaps your wallet and then a large duffle type open section which is light plaid so you can plainly see everything. The zippers cam be locked as well! I use little pouches to tuck my items away so I just grab the appropriate pouch for my charger or cosmetics etc. The side has a zippered part which is great for quick access to a fairly large pocket and the front has 2 zippered lengthwise pockets which is good for a small calendar or passport or tickets. As for what I am able to put in the bag...just about anything. Its deep enough for my water bottle and thermos to sit upright, and I have several books, gel pens, and things to occupy my time while on a plane or waiting area. It rides on my shoulder nicely or I can carry it by padded handles. The bag can be lifted by your pinky finger when empty so YOU are in control now heavy you make it. Would I walk through Italy with it...ha...no because I wouldn't need things to occupy my time. I would use a close to the body secure purse with just the essentials and keep the bag in my hotel room. But for everywhere else it's small convenient and perfect. The rose is like a light lavender. A dusty rose lavender shall we say. It's perfect. For a guy I would go with the darker color but my travelpro luggage is purple and this bag is a nice accent. So dont assume it's just for luggage. It's not. Use it every day and keep everything in one place. Another note. I stay in a lot of hotels and have had fire alarms go off in the middle of the night. Having 1 bag with all my important things is what I grab on the way out. If you have a purse, a work tote, a non essentials bags...etc...its disorganized. This bag will hold it all including a smaller laptop. So pack it and go!! 5 stars. The zippers are a bit stiff because the seams are tougher in the effect of making the bag stand on it's own. The only drawback is no metal footsies on the bottom. This is nice in a way as it can pass for something other than luggage since it doesnt scream "luggage", but be careful where you put it down as it will be sitting directly on the bottom of the bag. Dont put on yucky floor. However the fabric is tough and water resistant and stain resistant so it will be ok if you use good judgment. In the picture it's not as big as it seems on top the luggage. My angle was off so it looks bigger. It's nice and compact. Actually it is 16 inches not 18. You can see the softness of the item but when you sit it down the walls of the bag hold their own that's what I like as I was using a floppy tote purse and when opened it kinds of flops down like a wet noodle. I like having the bag open and not having my stuff flop out.

I purchased two of these Travelpro Maxlite 5's for an upcoming trip on an airline with strict carry-on dimensions. I chose the black for my son and the champagne color for myself. The champagne color is beautiful and the black is sharp. How did they do? Outstanding under seat carry-on tote!! It holds a lot and as long as you don't stuff it, it slides easily under the seat. It's extremely light, so even after it's packed, it's comfortable to carry and doesn't feel heavy and burdensome. I prefer a carry-on that stands up and keeps its shape. It's easier to pack than totes that flop over and you have solid parameters on how much to pack. The pockets and interior were easily accessible in-flight and it slides easily on and off the handle of our spinner luggage. It's the perfect tote! That's Travelpro!
