Natural Vitality Kids Calm Magnesium 16oz Powder | Mixed Berry Flavored Drink Mix Supplement | Supports a Balanced Mood and Healthy Development

I love this Calm Drink for my kids, however for one of them it was way too sweet. So I give the regular Calm to one, and the other drinks this one. It is on the sweet side, but overall, it calms my kids as the night is winding down. It helps them to fall asleep faster, which makes this momma happy! And once we started giving our kids the Calm Magnesium supplement, their coach totally noticed they were more focused too. This stuff works!

This stuff is recommended by my son's doctor for adjunct medical therapy for ADHD. I really feel like it helps calm him- not enough alone without prescription meds, but it's a great addition. He takes 1 tsp twice a day. It's very sour, but he takes it like a champ just mixed in a little bit of applesauce. We found that trying to drink it down mixed up with water or juice took longer and prolonged that sour taste, so he prefers to just eat a few spoonfuls of sour applesauce instead! One of my other sons (not ADHD, but anxiety) takes it in orange juice and doesn't complain about the sour flavor. I again think it helps him slightly, but it's not a miracle or anything. It does seem to help him relax at night and fall asleep quicker and stay asleep longer.

The Customer Service Agent explained that the powder cannot be taken in capsules since the magnesium carbonate & citric acid need the water to create ionic magnesium citrate. (Same info. is also on the label.) Adding another liquid afterward is allowed. Since it is very sour to my 8-year old, I added up to 1 tsp. of castor sugar to the mixed & dissolved 1/2 tsp. of Calm Kid and 3 oz. of water to get my child to drink at least half; however, still under protest even with added water. I just added equal parts of the directed mixture & apple juice, which made it more acceptable & did NOT add the sugar. I tasted it & the magnesium citrate may be too much for my taste as well. Taking it before going to school is necessary, but I am concerned that it might upset my child's stomach. It was taken with breakfast; no complaints of stomach upset after 1-hour. I am happy to report that it does help my child focus & concentrate on math & reading at home without causing headaches and/or drowsiness. Update: I had to reduce her dose to 1/8 of the above mixed amount & then mixed that 1/8 in her apple juice & water. It worked in 30 minutes & lasted for about 8 hours. Also, she had to take it before 9am or it seemed to cause some anxiety at bedtime or the krill for kids may have been the culprit. Both have been stopped because we needed to identify the anxiety cause. She is back on prescription meds for now.

Ive noticed a huge difference before bed with my toddler. She sleeps so well and we have our routine of having her drink her 'pink drink" before bed. Very effective . She loves the taste and ingredients seem to be good. I even started using it before bed and love it. Very easy to mix in water. Highly recommend.

I bought for someone. It came not damaged and on time!

The only reason I gave this 2 stars is because my son would not drink it. The directions are for bedtime use. How and why would I want him drinking a full glass of “flavored water“ before bedtime? He did not like the taste, nor the texture, nor could he drink that much. This product was a waste for us. But if your kiddo is not sensitive to texture or taste, and if they will drink a full cup before bed, go for it! It’s probably a good product. Just not for us.
