Maybe I'm too picky...
I have tried so many serums I can't count them all. In my opinion, the best ones leave no trace. This one leaves behind a residue that I don't like. My skin feels like it's got a coating over it. But it's possible this coating is what is supposed to make your pores "visibly smaller". My pores look the exact same size. Before using a face product, I like to read about it to find out exactly what it's intentions are. The fancy product packaging says absolutely nothing. So I come to this website to find out more. It talks more about the doctor and famous clients than the actual product. I am not a person that jumps in the water just because Kim K is already swimming. What I really want to know is if this a product that I am supposed to see instant results with, or something that works over time? Should I be applying this over my entire face, or just trouble spots? Can I use it with hyaluronic acid serums, Vitamin C or retinol? Unless you're in your 20's, wrinkle prevention is first priority, and I just don't know where this product fits. But I have a daughter in her 20's that might appreciate this serum and certainly can't afford to buy it, so back in the fancy box it goes, off to her place.

5 pimples in 1 week. Need I say more?
For the love of skincare, can we please stop putting coconut oil in face products? I expect this from cheap brands, but high end brands like this one don't get a pass. Coconut oil is comedogenic, it's a fact. It's the 3rd ingredient in this formula. I'm 38 years old, I get one pimple per month right before my period, and that's it. In the week I've used this, I've had 5! A couple of them have been pretty big ones too, and I'm nowhere near that time of the month. It's a shame because there are some nice ingredients in this serum that I would have liked. Not everyone will have a problem, I get that, and fractionated coconut oil is likely better than non fractionated. But if something scores a 4 out of 5 on the comedogenic scale, let's save it for baked goods body lotion and not slather it on our faces.

Magical
Epione Skin Care Beverly Hills, Bruise Serum by Dr. Simon OurianOn the recommendation of my esthetician, I was looking for a cream with Vitamin K (Phytonadione) to help quickly combat a few bruises on my face that were caused by my rambunctious puppy. She bopped me just right and I ended up with a nice bruise on my cheek and I can't hide behind my mask much longer. I tend to bruise easily because of medication and this cream really helped clear up the bruise quicker than using just hot and cold packs. It also contains arnica which I have taken orally in the past to help with bruising. The combination of those two things is amazing. The cream is nicely formated and sinks right into my dry skin and causes no irritation. There is really no scent either. I am going to buy one for my niece to see if it helps with her under-eye discoloration since it did wonders for my issues. This really does speed up the healing process.#alcohol-free #fragrance & essential oil-freeKey IngredientsAntioxidant: Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) ExtractCell-communicating ingredient: Retinyl PalmitateSkin-identical ingredient: Glycerin, ArginineSoothing: Aesculus Hippocastanum (Horse Chestnut) Seed Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) ExtractALL INGREDIENTS BY FUNCTIONAntimicrobial/antibacterial: Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) ExtractEmollient: Cetearyl Alcohol, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) OilEmulsifying: Cetearyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 60Moisturizer/humectant: Glycerin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf JuicePerfuming: Arnica Montana Flower ExtractPreservative: Ethylhexylglycerin, PhenoxyethanolSolvent: WaterSurfactant/cleansing: Cetearyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 60Viscosity controlling: Cetearyl Alcohol, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Xanthan GumIngredientsWater, Cetearyl Alcohol, Theobrama Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Polysorbate 60, Glycerin, Phytonadione, Tocopheryl Acetate, Aesculus Hippocastanum (Horse Chestnut) Seed Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Arnica Montana Flower Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Retinyl Palmitate, Arginine, Xanthan Gum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol.

Coconut Oil Based Thick Cream Serum
The Epione Hydration Serum comes in a plastic black 1oz pump, nested inside a pretty but wasteful heavy-duty, icon gray gold letter branded cardboard box. Given the design of the pump and the thickness of the perfumy white cream, some of the product dries out and jams up the pump, or is dispensed in a solid, unpleasant mass you have to pick out before you can apply the rest of the “serum” to your face. When I say perfumy, I should clarify, this does not have added fragrance. But the scent is something very floral and coconut heavy. That is like because the third ingredient in this expensive serum is coconut oil. When I say expensive, I mean the serum cost ~$120 (when I got it). It is by “Dr. Simon Ourian” for Epione of Beverly Hills. While it is going to provide hydration, based on the ingredients, I personally can’t use it because I have sensitive, acne-prone/congestion-prone skin. I don’t tolerate the use of coconut oil well. But you may love it if you are able to use coconut oil in your skincare. This just seems pretty pricey for a basic list of ingredients. Just because something is very expensive does not inherently mean it is better or more effective. Most everything in this serum are ingredients you would find in a lot of other skincare for far less.Anyway, I hope this review was helpful.
