If your thinking of buying this for a present...buy it! Don't waste your time on anything cheaper or anything else. I bought this on the strength of the same brand but a cheaper version. This version has an all metal drive train. It is absolutely awesome. Battery life is something like 40 minutes and its loads of fun. Within an hour of the boy (12) opening it was already being launched of a skate ramp at the local ramps...now I don't recommend that it but it held up fine. We bought this December 2024 and its still going strong. Yes we have broken the front lights but considering its been launched all over the place that's fair enough its not a fault of the product. Make sure to read the instruction manual. There is a specific sequence to turn it off and on. The only gripe that could be had would be the boy wants someone to race it with...so you might want to buy two

Great choice in an RC car if you’re just starting out and it comes fully assembled apart from attachment of the rear spoiler. Comes with two batteries so you can enjoy constant play it you need you.

It’s a small car but it does go quick fast could be bit faster great little car even though I’m 45 years old and still like having nice things and my boys toys lol

First off, this is a great little RC truck, especially for a beginner to RC and represents good value at a discounted price, but not at over £90 (see below). The usual HBX consistency in build and tough, flexible plastic is there. The light weight and good choice of materials make these trucks very durable. They are fun to drive, respond well to the transmitter and should last well, whether looked after or somewhat abused. They definitely put a smile on your face and are easy to take with you on days out or camping trips for example. The run time should be around 20-30 mins per battery, which is plenty, though be sure to get a low voltage alarm (see below) to keep your batteries happy. This is a downgraded truggy version of the excellent HBX 18858 T-Truck (Rampage) that has a brushless motor, full metal drivetrain and oil shocks out of the box, so shares most spares, which is helpful. Like I said, this a is a technical downgrade on the brushless version, which doesn't make it a bad product at all, but be aware of a few things that will cost extra if you choose to upgrade them. The brushed motor obviously has significantly less punch and power than the brushless version, but that is ok and it is still capable of a bit over 20mph, which feels fairly quick in a small scale vehicle. The transmitter is a downgrade too, but works fine. The only thing you need to change out is the shocks, which are undamped, spring-only types, that offer no damping and allow the truck to bottom out easily. Upgraded, alloy, oil-filled dampers for the 18858 are available from HBX or resellers and vastly improve the suspension and handling over all terrain. A must-have upgrade. This version has the annoying screw fit wheels, which are ok and should be quite durable, but are less robust than the proper stub axles and wheel-nuts on the brushless version. You need to buy the upgraded metal driveshafts with stub axles, which finish in a wheel nut, to change this out. Not at all critical and by all means use 'til it breaks, which will be a while! Parts of the drivetrain are metal (driveshafts) but the wheel fixings and drive cups are plastic, as are the differentials. This makes it lighter and quieter than the full-metal brushless version, but perhaps less durable in the long term, although I do have 2 brushless 16889 trucks with similar running gear to this Hailstorm and they haven't broken yet. These trucks come with a basic USB LiPo battery charger, which works and should be ok in the short term. However, if you want to really look after your batteries, I suggest getting a sensibly-priced LiPo charger that can storage charge the batteries at around 3.8v per cell (these are 2-cell batteries). LiPos should not be discharged too deeply or left fully charged, as this can damage them and even render them unsafe, so a proper charger is highly recommended. I would also get a LiPo voltage checker and alarm that connects to the battery in use and beeps when the battery reaches a lowest safe voltage. They are cheap and easy to find on Amazon. In summary; a great HBX product. If you can get a discount code, go for it, but if not, the full metal brushless version T-Truck is available elsewhere from only approx £20 more and comes with significantly higher specification.

Kratzfestes Unterteil Gerade im Gelände unverzichtbar: Das Chassis zeigt auch nach mehreren Fahrten kaum Gebrauchsspuren. 5. Ich habe dieses ferngesteuerte Auto von HAIBOXING (aus China) zwar im Rahmen des AMAZON- VINE- Programms kostenfrei zum Testen angeboten bekommen, aber dies hat keinerlei positive oder auch negative Auswirkungen auf meine Bewertung. Diese gebe ich wie immer völlig unvoreingenommen und neutral wieder. Vorab kurz was zur Nutzung allgemein. Der Hersteller verweist zwar darauf, dass dieses Auto hier nur für Kinder ab 14 Jahren geeignet ist, aber mein 10-jähriger Neffe hatte keinerlei Probleme mit der Handhabung und ist auch schwer begeistert von dem Auto. Auch das man es nur unter Aufsicht von Erwachsenen benutzen soll, ist zwar ein durchaus berechtigter Hinweis, allerdings muss ich gestehen, dass ich mit dem Auto nur halb so gut klargekommen bin, wie mein Neffe. Der erste Eindruck von diesem ferngesteuerten Auto ist auch für mich durchweg positiv. Sowohl in Punkto Verarbeitung, wie auch Funktionalität und Geschwindigkeit und sportlicher Optik, macht das Auto einen sehr guten und auch robusten Eindruck. Im Lieferumfang enthalten sind neben dem Auto auch ein 7.4V Li-Po -Akku (850mAh) mit Unterspannungsabschaltung und Überstromschutz, eine einfach zu bedienende Fernbedienung, das notwendige Ladekabel und ein Produkthandbuch. Kommen wir mal zur Anwendung. Zu den ganzen technischen Daten des Autos kann ich ehrlich gesagt nur wenig sagen, da ich mich hier auch nicht wirklich auskenne. Der Hersteller gibt dazu in seiner Produktbeschreibung aber genügend Auskünfte. So weit ich es verstanden habe verfügt dieses ferngesteuerte Auto über einen sogenannten, flexiblen 4WD-Antriebsstrang und ist mit einem leistungsstarken 380 Bürstenmotor ausgestattet. Man hat hier die Wahl zwischen zwei Geschwindigkeitsstufen, einer langsamen und einer, die richtig Power hat. So erreicht das Auto auch eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von über 30 km/h. Für mein Empfinden ist das Auto auch angenehm leise, da hätte ich auch mit mehr Lärm gerechnet. Mit der Funksteuerung (2,4 GHz) kann man das Auto auf eine Strecke von knappen 60-70 Metern problemlos und sehr gut steuern (Lenkung/Gassteuerung/Lenkradius/Spursteuerung). Weiterhin verfügt das Auto über ein rostfreies, doppelt gedichtetes Rillenkugellager mit 16 Kugellagern, wodurch nicht nur die Reibung der Antriebsstränge verringert, sondern auch die Laufbelastung und thermischen Leistungsverlust minimiert werden. Das Fahrvergnügen ist auch bei voller Power einfach genial. Das Auto verfügt über eine super Bodenhaftung und landet auch bei Sprüngen, bei rasanten Richtungswechsel und scharfen Kurven fast immer auf den Rädern. Hier merkt man auch die gute Qualität der Einzelradaufhängung mit ihren einstellbaren Stoßdämpfern und den robusten Gummireifen. Überhaupt finde ich die ganze Verarbeitung (keine störend, herumhängenden Kabel, oder schlecht verarbeitete Autoteile) an diesem Auto echt klasse und hätte ich ehrlich gesagt so nicht unbedingt erwartet. Mit diesem Auto kann man wirklich auf fast jedem Untergrund fahren und selbst kleinere Pfützen und Wasserlachen (spritzwassergeschützt) stellen kein Problem dar. Das Aufladen geht für mein Empfinden auch recht flott und wenn man nicht die ganze Zeit mit Beleuchtung fährt, hat man fast eine Stunde richtig guten Fahrspaß.
