I came across this one, and it was 1.5 cups, and I was like "more space for cheaper, absolutely yes." so I bought this one. It says unpolished granite, so I was expecting it to be rough. It is granite, so it's very heavy, but let me tell you that I am STUNNED by the beauty of this piece. It's polished black on the outside (except the flat part of the bottom), and the top, except for the bowl. This looks like it belongs in an art museum, and I'm so happy with it. The pestle is also polished and beautiful except for the part that does the grinding. Seems very sturdy and stable. It came with care instructions, including how to season it, and they threw in a free gift of a garlic peeler.
