Yes, it's light duty. Very light duty I'd say. Every metal tube is very thin wall, and half of it snaps together like tent poles. I'd say the ~40lb weight rating is pretty accurate. But then it's also dirt cheap compared to everything else out there, so while I'd love to see improvements, I'd still say it's a 5 star product considering the price point. The fake wood top does set it off quite a bit more than I expected. Still is obviously a cheap product, and no one is going to mistake this for some custom 1 off costing thousands of dollars, but I would never expect that out of something this cheap anyways. Is it going to meet everyone's expectations? Probably not. For me though, it was perfect. I needed something to hold the portable mini fridge, which needed a surface about 12 inches wide. Most of the other tables similar to these are less than 10" wide, which wouldn't be enough. I'm planning on moving across the country in a year or two, and will be leaving behind 90%+ of the stuff I own, so I didn't want something super expensive for a short time anyway. But I also needed something to take my daily work stuff off the kitchen table, because dropping it on the table every day made it far easier to let messes grow with super speed. Also handy for eliminating the giant shoe rack I used to have here when I had a lot more pairs of footwear taking up space. I don't know what the weight of my stuff is, but it's probably already well overloaded, and it's obvious looking at the bend of the top shelf. But it's still holding pretty well. Not sure what people were talking about with the confusing directions. Sure, there's no text saying connect part A to part B, but I felt the pictures were pretty self explanatory. Every part comes well labeled with a letter sticker in the box, and the pictures clearly show part A going to part B. So happy with it. I'll buy something more substantial for the next house.

I have items to sort, like extra photo frames or school papers from my adult kids, and small projects on the floor, lined along one wall, in my bedroom. I wanted a narrow table with several shelves so I could get those things up off the floor and in better order to work through it all. This table is perfect!! 3 shelves that will hold a good amount of items. Looks very sharp! Very sturdy once you do the final tightening of all the screws. For anyone with mobility issues, I wanted to share that I did this entire assembly sitting down on my couch. Assembly was pretty much a breeze. Easiest I've ever done. Every part was labeled with a sticky tag, with its letter on it, so parts were easy to locate during assembly. Take your time with each step. Pay attention to any holes to be sure they're located in the right direction. It wasn't a big deal but I placed 2 pieces backwards and had to unscrew one screw each and flip them around, once I figured out what I'd done wrong. Having written directions would have helped some, rather than mostly just pictures, but I had very few scratching-my-head moments. DO NOT FULLY TIGHTEN SCREWS UNTIL ASSEMBLY IS COMPLETE!! One thing I noticed in some of the photos was that the little silver push button connectors are on the top side of the shelves. I positioned mine so that they're on the underside of the shelf and not visible. They also won't interfere with anything that happens to get set on them and they won't get pushed down by anything that's set on them.

I am so glad I bought this storage shelf. I got the larger size and also bought some see-through plastic containers to keep my meds and nail polish, etc. organized. My grandson put it together in about a half hour. The price was reasonable and it's the perfect height. If you're undecided, just buy it. You'll find a use for it.

The shelf is decent, and fits my needs. I just wanted a narrow table for my plants in front of my window, and this works great. Upside: works great for narrow spaces, holds quite a bit, and looks fancy! I can fit two rows of 6” plants on each shelf, as well as potentially attaching grow light strips on the underside of each shelf. Downside: it comes in 347 pieces (think IKEA level) and is kind of confusing to put together, if you don’t pay attention to the direction the pieces face. Instructions are pretty vague, but sufficient. Holes don’t perfectly align and took some maneuvering. Took me a little over an hour (and a lot of cursing lol) to assemble, but I got it. Definitely wouldn’t recommend putting anything heavy on it, as the metal is pretty thin and flexible. The top surface pieces are “marbled” look, which you can’t really tell from the listing photos. Those pieces are made of pressboard. All in all, it met my needs-just beware, you get what you pay for-this is no high-end sturdy piece of furniture. But overall, it’s a decent value!

Looks great and assembles easily. Fits perfectly in my living room giving me easy access to some books. Looks great with a couple of baskets on it to hold small items.

It was easy to assemble and inexpensive, but it looks real nice. Once you set it up I was literally shocked at the sturdiness and the quality for the price I recommended.

Great and sturdy piece of furniture for the price. I like that it’s metal. I’m only giving it 3 stars because there were three different places where the holes were misaligned, making assembly more difficult. One of the holes that was misaligned was one of the peg and hole segments of the mesh shelf. That misalignment could not be addressed, so I had to assemble the shelf with that peg not in the hole. Most frustrating because this was one of the last few steps of assembly so it wasn’t worth sending it back for an exchange. 😕 Also, the instructions were not great at all despite being translated into several languages AND you still had to use bolts and allen wrench for MOST of the assembly. It’s only the shelves that use the peg and hole method (thank goodness, otherwise I might not have been able to assemble it).

I ordered this table because it had the right dimensions for where I needed it to go .. it fitted perfectly! .. it holds soooo much and it quite strong also .. took less then 20 mins to put to together ..

Very beautiful unit. I ordered the rustic brown one for my living room, it looks great. It was not hard to put together.
