Makes the Shure SE 846’s the absolute best wireless earphones. But...
If you want the best wireless earphones and have the SE 846’s, this will do it. They don’t sound as good as when wired, but that’s not the point. You already have the best sounding earphones. The RMCE-BT1 makes them the best wireless available, in my opinion. Isn’t that why you would buy this accessory?I have carefully comparing these to my AirPods and my Bose Soundsport Free Bluetooth earphones. The SE 846’s with the RMCE-BT1 sounds much better than either. The wired 846’s have an annoyingly heavy cord. Because of this, my AirPods had replaced my wired 846’s for all but serious listening. Not anymore. Wireless, the 846’s are almost as invisible in feel, and have superior sound. The major sonic difference from wired is a loss of some of the subwoofer effect. The deep bass is less visceral. For serious listening, I use the 846’s wired through a headphone amp.My advice is to decide what you want. If you have the SE 846’s and have yearned for a wireless version, the RMCE-BT1 beats everything out there, in my opinion. If want wireless to sound as good as wired, you need to wait for the Bluetooth technology to advance. (I cannot comment on how they would sound with other Shure models. They lack the subwoofer effect, so the loss may not be as noticeable. But it is also possible that the overall loss in quality might make them sound no better than Airpods. But that is pure speculation.)

Serious/dangerous outcome with mine.
I loved this wireless connection and would have given it a 5 star rating yesterday. Distance, battery life, ease of use, and sound quality were all great. I used it primarily at the gym matched up with a pair of 425s. Came home from the gym yesterday and went to charge it but the light wouldn’t come on so I took it to another charger in the house where it lit up and seemed to be charging just fine. Went to unplug it this morning and I was shocked when the connector burned my fingers. It was very hot to touch. I had a bad feeling. Sure enough, it no longer turns on. The buttons won’t even depress. I’m gessing the internals melted or swelled. I will include some pictures that show the casing is now warped from the heat. It might be hard to see without a before and after picture but trust me, it’s warped. All this of course happened 10 days after my return window with Amazon closed. I will attempt to work with the Shure warranty department. Will update with progress.Update, Shure took care of the problem months ago with as much speed and concern as I would hope for. I have been using the replacement almost daily with a pair of 846’s and I love it.

DO NOT PURCHASE TO USE WHILE RUNNING
I've been using Shure products (microphones, in-ear monitors) for over ten years and have always been pleased with their quality. I own a pair of the Shure 215 isolating earphones that I used as in-ear monitors back in my musician days and decided to finally cut the cord and make them wireless to use while running. They were great in the beginning , convenient and sounded great. The microphone sounded terrible according to people I spoke with on the phone. Problems arose last February when I ran the Austin Marathon. They were fully charged ("battery more than 6 hours") yet an hour into the race, they stopped working and wouldn't turn on, leaving me to run another 2.5 hours with no music.I sent the cable back under warranty and received a replacement. I've used them numerous times at the office on airplanes and haven't had any issues. This past Sunday I ran the Houston Marathon. I charged them overnight and at the start of the race when I turned them on the voice said "battery more than 6 hours." I kept them on, but didn't play any music for the first 20 minutes so I could focus on my cadence. When I did try to play music, nothing. I held the on button and still nothing. Several times throughout the race I tried to turn them on and they never did. Once again I had to run a full marathon without any music.I tried to turn them on just now and nothing, yet when I plugged them in and turned them on, the voice said "battery more than 6 hours."The video on their website shows people wearing these while running, which after my experience, seems like false advertising. If you are looking for wireless earphones to use while running DO NOT BUY THESE!! They are not reliable and will likely leave you running in silence.

I really wanted to like these
Really wanted to love the freedom of bluetooth for my SE425's but the novelty wears off really quickly.Pro's: great battery lifeCon's:1. Reduced sound quality. You lose the crispness and hi fidelity that makes you buy Shure in the first place. There's a constant buzzing/feedback that you can hear when the music is paused.3. The design is frustrating at best. Ok so you can clip the battery pack to the back of your shirt and everything is fine, but then the mic/controls are behind your head... means that you have to adjust your setup every time you want to answer a call because the phone will prefer the bluetooth mic unless you disconnect the entire set. You have to wear the cable in front of you to use the mic, but the earphones are designed to loop over your ears and tie in the back, making it really awkward. And why does Shure insist on using memory wire? It adds bulk and weight to the ears, greatly increasing ear fatigue; I had to take a break after a few hours, which is not something I worry about with my cables (I removed the memory wire on those as well).2. For a company known to make microphones, this Mic is utterly useless. Even when directly in your face the sound comes out very low quality and breaks here and there. Forget about using it if you tie the cables behind your head.

Exactly what Shure says they are...a Bluetooth option for their headphones
So far great. I haven't had any of the issues thus far reported by other reviewers. The Bluetooth sound quality is pretty much what I would expect (good, yet not amazing), battery life has been great so far and I personally don't find them uncomfortable to wear. I have experienced one or two quick disconnects while outside, yet nothing like other bluetooth headphones I have tried (looking at you Bragi Dash). There is a cable management bracket that allows you to pull the runs together so I have just cinched them closer to my neck which has addressed the weight of the Bluetooth receiver that others have noted. It moves the phone pick-up and controls behind my neck, yet that isn't an issue for me as I will never use this for phone calls. This gets five stars from me as it does exactly what is promised and allows me to use my stupid expensive Shure headphones over Bluetooth. I prefer a wired connection for sound quality, yet am under no illusion that if I want the portability that comes with no wires that I will get what the standard supports. I don't see this as Shure's problem. If over the life of these I experience any of the issues noted by other reviewers here or on amazon.com I will come back and add an update.

Ottimo cavo Bluetooth

Made for the job - top quality
After reading some of the reviews on here I was worried and TBH they are expensive. But hey, this is Shure and I've been buying their products for years and it is money well spent. So I'm happy but let me state why over a few bullet points :) * lots of battery life - 6 + hours * solid build - cable is superior quality * ear cable stays where it is bent * has volume & next track, stop start too (tested on Iphone) * On turning on you are told how much battery remains * long enough lead to hide behind shirt without falling out * lightweight and comfy * rubber cover for charge socketNotesI do not use these running / training - just walking around etcI will update this if my perception changes
