Pilot Mechanical Pencil Lead Neox Graphite 0.9mm, B, 36 Leads (HRF9G-20-B)

I've been using Uni NanoDia in 2B, and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about the Neox. After using up 108 leads of the NanoDia and switching to the Neox, I can appreciate the feel of the Neox. For reference, I am using a GraphGear 1000 by Pentel in 0.9mm. It is smooth and silky and leaves great lines. Nice and dark too for 2B (almost on the verge of 3B). Only thing I noticed is it won't mark up certain hard materials like the NanoDia did. But I mostly use it for writing. The other problem with it is it will use more lead being softer. But that is OK. I like the feeling of the lead. I'd rather go through more and be happy -- doesn't bother me. Which IIRC, most people said you'll be pumping through lead like Led Zeppelin. Fine with me, it writes nice, and I appreciate the feeling and the nice dark lines. I highly recommend this lead!

The lead is what meets the paper regardless of the mechanical pencil. I suggest you toss the leads that come inside your 39 cent BIC and replace with one of the referenced substitute leads and create your own $100 writing machine. The advice is free and I wish you well.

Excellent pencil lead/graphite for a regular pen writer. The darkness is a little greater than regular #2 pencil because of softer composition. Lays down dark smooth lines and letters. Will use this from now on in all of my Parker and Cross pencils.

I tried buying cheap lead for my Pilot Dr. Grip 9 mm pencil and that was a HUGE mistake. The lead was not calibrated precisely enough to fit in the pencil and would get stuck and break. I bought this lead to try out and it fits great and writes like silk. I love it and won't buy any other brand now.

Finally, a pencil lead dark enough that I can see on paper.

Much easier to write without having to press down so hard. Smudges a little but the ease of writing and being able to read what's written is worth it.

Nice and dark. I got these because I wanted something darker than the usual "HB" rated lead. This fits the bill. It does smear just a tad easier than the HB leads I wanted it to replace, but it's not a big deal. Nice dispensing mechanism, too.

Does as expected.
