Sistine Chapel Pano 1000pc Puzzle

I love love love Eurographics puzzles!!! The pieces feel good and sturdy and the irregular pieces make it more challenging and fun! This one is extra hard

I read the reviews but I didn't believe them...the photo on the box is really too small and pixelated so it made it super hard to do the puzzle. Lots of squinting. The colors were also kind of drab. Not one of my favorites

The puzzle is 13 inches by 39 inches or 20 pieces by 50 pieces (exactly 1000 pieces). This makes the pieces .65 inch by .78 inch, approximately, plus/minus the knobs and sockets. This is quite small for the intricate image of the ceiling, that has many areas that are nearly identical.The biggest problem is the lack of a large image to work from. The box image is only 3.9 x 12.4 inches or about 10% the size of the puzzle. We had to go online to find an image to enlarge, to see the fine details. It would be better if the puzzle included a nearly full size image.

This puzzle was one of the harder ones my spouse and I have done but it was incredibly rewarding as we became much more deeply acquainted with the Sistine Chapel. We have never been in person but should we have the opportunity to go we will have a much more intense feeling of awe. The utter genius of Michelangelo has never been more apparent to us and we read avidly many articles on this as we went along. It is worth it for so many reasons. You feel triumphant when your finish and you will have gotten to know one of the treasures of the world.

After just taking my wife to see the Sistine chapel in Rome, her being an Avid puzzler, I had to get this. She cannot wait to Work on this puzzle.
