Gentlemen Prefer Heiresses

This Will Hurt Your Brain!
I really have enjoyed most of Heath's stories but this is awful. Romance fiction is light, escapist and mostly mindless. It is not literature and I try to not be too nitpicky about historical accuracy but there is no way this story would have happened. (Nevermind that they wouldn't have talked like a 20th century Playboy interview.) It is so far beyond any passing semblance of reality that I can not suspend my disbelief. Having finally overcome her sisters scandal, giving her a chance to find a suitable husband with a title and lots of money (her requirements) it is completely inconceivable that Gina would have proposed the she visit a brothel with a rake and risked her newfound respectability. Just no. The only thing these two have going for them is they have the hots (really hot!) for each other. Other than that I don't think they know a thing about each other and couldn't care less. I've read about half and all these two do is think about what the other one looks like naked, and what they want to do to each other. This story is so bad I can't even finish it and it is a short novella! The only saving grace to this whole episode is that I only spent $2 though it's not even worth .02 cents. This will hurt your brain.

This story needs less brothel and more romance.
GENTLEMEN PREFER HEIRESSES is the follow up novella to Heath's AN AFFAIR WITH A NOTORIOUS HEIRESS. For me, Heath either misses the ball or hits it out of the park. This is a miss for me. The story seems like just a series of vignettes involving brothels and balls. Both main characters fall in love and lust at first sight in the full length novel preceding this story. Here, Heath throws in some family bits peopled by main characters from her other novels and titillating sex scenes. That's it. There isn't much more. Gina and Andrew remained romance novel caricatures lost in lust. Maybe the story suffered from the short format or maybe I was put off by the juxtaposition of Rexton and Tillie's love fest of a wedding to Andrew taking Gina on a brothel adventure.

Gina and Andrew
Frannie and Sterling's baby boy gets his story!Lord Andrew Mabry, the lovable rogue finds himself unwillingly attracted to Gina Hammersley, the younger innocent sister of his new sister in law. Well, we expected this outcome from his attentions toward Gina in the last book. Lorraine Heath provides us with a satisfying HEA for our dear couple filled with desire, passion and much witty dialogue. It was nice to revisit some of the usual suspects in the private gaming room of the Twin Dragons. Their cheating card games always crack me up.Who's next!?

Short & Sweet
I love regency romances! I've read all of this author's books and liked them, even loved some. This was a good book, but I pre-ordered it some time back and didn't realize how short it is. The premise was fairly bland - duke's spare and American heiress fall in love. The heroine, Miss Virginia Hammersley, Gina, was compelling - beautiful and sweet and adventurous. The hero, Lord Andrew Mabry, was also compelling - handsome and aristocratic and fun, if a bit stubborn. They had good chemistry. The storyline was short and simple, but sweet. Overall, a good book.

Wonderful novella. Gina was such a great character
Wonderful novella.Gina was such a great character. She was strong and confident. She challenged Andrew and make him realize that with her, he will never be bored. She will always hold his interest and heart.I loved how Andrew showed Gina where to find adventure and to never fear the passion in her.

Disappointed
I love Lorraine Heath. So of course when she came out with her latest book, I ordered it. I was sadly very disappointed. This book is so lacking in any true romance and the writing feels foreign. Totally not like any of Lorraine Heath's other books. The characters are dumbed down and very basic. They are shallow and lacking any character development, so you really could care less about them. The steamy bedroom scenes thrown in do not revive what this book is lacking at its center.

Worth reading
I've just finished reading this story and I loved it! Andrew is deliciously wicked but has scruples. Gina is a spirited girl in search of some experience before she marries. Andrew's efforts to fight his attraction for Gina are all in vain. This makes for some very steamy encounters.

Nice story
Glad I got this book to read Gina's story. She turns out to be quite spunky and adventurous. She gets Andrew (her brother in law) to take her some risky places. And created her own scandal.

Short but oh so sweet
Lorraine Heath is amazing. This is only my 2nd of her books but I already am certain she is amongst my best loved romance writers.
