I can't figure out how to adjust the gas valve. Does the half-circle part lift up?

Do I need to remove anything from the lighter in order to fill with butane?

I purchased the 2 pack and they came individually wrapped in one box. These are very solid and simple torch lighter's!

You make a big deal about the groove in the lid, what is that for?

Yeah I'm not sure it's wise to put a lit cigar on top of a gas lighter , also unless you balance the cigar evenly it won't rest on it correctly. I won't be using it to hold my cigar's!
