This contraption got some serious hate ; ) from the 2 other reviewers, IMO, undeservedly so, and I'm going to try to restore some balance to the situation.While they are correct in saying the cleanup isn't the easiest, this isn't the designer's, or manufacturer's fault - it's just the "physics" of the situation, and as long as you empty the thing over the sink, and not over, say, over a trash can - lol - you won't make a mess. This task does require you to "pop it" upside down a couple of times against you hand, to get the last of the leaves stuck at the bottom out of it, so in the case of arthritis or a similar condition you could use something like a chopstick to loosen those leaves up and then flush them out instead.Also, and this is inevitable too, this strainer causes you to use a little more tea to achieve the same strength as if you just dumped the tea directly in the thermos - about 20% more. Tea isn't exactly expensive, so IMO this is a non issue.Bottom line is that if you want your tea pot to be "good to the last drop" ; ), using this strainer is really the only way to do it, other than using tea bags.The strainer earns 5 stars by, IMO, being "the best something like that can be". The thermos to use it with is btw. super-efficient at keeping liquids hot. Very happy with both.

This size and shape of tea strainer is perfect for thermous but the metal rod across the middle of the strainer makes it very difficult to clean out the loose tea.

Convient parfaitement pour les Thermos que j'ai acheté. Contient une belle quantité de thé. Facile à vider en secouant un peu. Très pratique le pied pour le poser.
