…if you’re already used to buying expensive espresso tools. The magnetic ring, wood handle, and smooth action really shows how well thought out this is. Ikape makes great stuff. However, I’ve noticed a weird kink in my workflow. Because my Breville Barista Express has a little tab to start the dispensing of grounds, AND the Ikape tamper doesn’t fit inside the dosing ring, you have to do a bit of switching around. 1. Attach dosing funnel 2. Grind beans 3. Caaaaarefully swap the dosing ring for this WDT ring and tool 4. Distribute 5. Use a narrow tamper to push the grounds down a bit 6. Remove WDT ring 7. Tamp with weighted tamper 8. Brew The short of this is that the weighted tamper just isn’t really compatible with dosing rings. So you have to pre-tamp so you don’t make a mess when you remove the ring. Ways to improve: 1. Make a breville dispenser dosing ring that also works with this WDT tool 2. Make a calibrated tamper that fits into the dosing ring. But overall still great. And not worth removing a star.

TOok me a long time to finally write a review on this.

The actual device works great, but it's difficult to reinsert the case as the top of the case is tapered, and the needles seem to fan out. Instead of using the device as intended, I flipped it, removed the bottom, and drilled a hole in my tray to hold the device upside down. Now, the bottom part, which fans out, is pointing toward the top, and it's effortful to put the handle with needles back into storage. One star off for making it a bit difficult to get the needles back into the holder without this flip optimization. It would have been great if the design of this device were this way from the start, but I was happy to be able to make this adjustment and improve the effort of putting the needles back into place. Other than that, it works quite well and does what it's designed for.

I have been using it for almost a year, it is a good product and very good quality but you have to be careful with the needles because they tend to bend easily, try to use it gently and place it in a place where its needles cannot bend. I have been using it for almost a year as I had mentioned and I have no problems with this product. It also includes additional needles in case you lose one or bend one. I can recommend this product.

The construction materials for this wdt tool are really nice and it is such a beautiful design, I love the astetics and the build. The only slightly negative is the size of the 0.25mm needles, they are very fragile because they are so thin. I have a 54mm portafilter so it’s a bit deeper than the 58mm so there is some dragging of the grinds, I have been trying to find some replacement needles to get like 0.35-0.4 mm needles. Other than that it is really a great tool and worth the price I think.

I just got my dosing funnel so I have had to be very careful using it so far so as to not spill the grinds out of the portafilter. But it is tall and narrow so it is easy to tip over. Also the opening to put the top back on is about the same diameter as the total diameter of the needle pattern, so you have to be careful putting the top back on to not catch and bend a needle.

Syrupy espresso, so easy to use it feels wrong. From a price perspective it is worth it as well, since it costs around 25-30 for a dosing funnel and around 20 for a WDT tool from amazon. Combine them and save five dollars with this great tool.

Nos gusto, se ve lindo junto a la cafetera y las agujas tienen el tamaño y la rigidez esperada. Habia muchas opciones y fue una buena elección. Solo hay que tener cuidado al guardarlo de que todas las agujas queden dentro.😊
