Excellent, perfect fit, and easy install
First about the product. Curt is a well recognized brand with solid material workmanship. I am very happy with the quality and am sure it will provide many years of trouble free use.Second the vehicle: I installed this on a 2019 VW Tiguan SEL Premium. For those wondering, it was a perfect fit and yes the auto tail hitch opening still works after install. (While some installation instructions could slightly alter based on year, it seems the 2022+ models may need a small piece of molding removed as instructions point it out and advise to return the unnecessary part to the owner)Third installation tips (includes bolt alignment solve):1) A partner is recommended as you don’t want a heavy hitch falling on your face while both your hands are trying to thread a screw. The bolts are easy to access but the hitch in general is a tight fit to the frame, not much wiggle room, which is ideal. I do recommend ramps to lift the tail for easier access and at least one hydraulic jack. Also, a 13mm and 16mm socket and torque wrench to set te bolts to spec.2) You must lower the exhaust otherwise you won’t be able to successfully angle the hitch into place. Don’t worry it won’t hang too low or break, but be gentle. I still used a spare jack stand to keep it in position until I was ready.3) The solve about not aligning the bolts. In several reviews I read that the nut is on a spring. This is not true although it may feel this way. What you are feeling is the actual bumper moving from gravity. Yes, the hitch attaches through the frame of the car onto the bumper of the car. This of the bumper as a U shape where the tips of the U enter the frame of the car. It’s in those ends that the nut is located. To get them to align fit your hand in the center of bumper to locate the black iron actual bumper. If you wiggle it around you’ll notice the nut adjusting inside the frame. It took maybe 1-2min to thread the screw once I figured this out.If you are not using the supplied screws, I highly recommend threading the screw and plate washer as instructed in the manual. The provided wires will make it very easy. I assume if you have trouble with this step attempt moving the bumper as well.4) Make sure all is tightened to manufacture specs. If using existing bolts 45lb and if using supplied bolts 59lb. Engineers test these numbers for a reason.Having the right tools helps a ton and can make this an easy 20min install. I took my time and installed it alone in 1 hour from entering my garage to cleanup.Note: I also have a VW Atlas with preinstalled hitch. The height of the hitch on my Atlas is 17-18in from the ground. I have used my Atlas to tow everything from a trailer to another vehicle. The hitch height of this Curt on a VW Tiguan put it at about 10-11in. That’s about 7in lower than my Atlas. While I only intend to use this for a bike hitch and a basket hitch. If I were to tow anything, I will need to add a raiser as the tongue would sit tocar too low on my Tiguan.Hope this review and attached pictures are helpful.

Good hitch for the price over OEM
This is a solid hitch for the price, over OEM. I only needed it for attaching a 4 bike rack and not really towing much, but I understand it's rated fairly high as it's a Class 3 and Curt has always been reliable. My only issue is that the box I received was badly damaged and at first I didn't seen anything visually wrong with the hitch and accepted the package. Took to my mechanic so I can get the car up in the air and discovered that the hitch end was bent, where it needs to be mounted on car. It took us a while to hammer it out and install the hitch. I had already paid for the service and did not want to bring back home to get a refund through Amazon. Luckily, the day after when I called Amazon about the situation, they initially wanted to offer a refund or exchange but I told them I already mounted and will not pay to have it removed. Amazon provided great service and gave me money back without returning the product. Calling Amazon always gets things resolved as opposed to using the automated online system if you have major issues.Overall, love the hitch, looks nice and is a Class 3, installation is easy if you have extra hands and can get the car up a few feet and use the original OEM screws.

Solid product; challenging installation if you don't have another person helping
This product is exactly as advertised. It is made very solid and fit perfectly on my daughter's 2018 VW Tiguan. I installed it in our driveway in a little under 2 hours. It should have taken 1 hour or less, maybe 30 minutes with two people. The challenge was holding the hitch up high enough to put the bolts back in and it got dark before I finished so I had to work with a battery powered lantern and a flashlight. I used a plastic milk crate to hold the hitch high enough that it was above the exhaust but I still had to lift it about another 8 inches to line up the holes to insert the bolts. There was some soft coating about 1/4 inch thick next to the holes for the back bolts that kept the holes from lining up. I used a utility knife to shave it down enough to line up the holes. I spent about $200 to buy this receiver hitch and a torque wrench. I may have been able to pay to have one installed for about $300. Was the effort worth saving $100? Maybe but with no sports on TV it was something constructive to do and I will probably need the torque wrench for some other project in the future.

Good Hitch, But a Tight Fit
This a good quality, sturdy, well-made hitch. It fits nicely with the receiver sticking out just below the real fascia. On our R-Line, I had to trim the underside of the fascia slightly but not in a place that you'd ever see.I have 2- issues though: 1st) the hitch needs to be about 1/16 - 1/8" wider to easily fit around the subframe rails. 2nd) The instructions do not mention that the rear bumper support is held in place with the bolts you remove to install the hitch. It takes a bit of fighting to get everything in place and lined up, but once you do it all goes together fine.
