I spent a lot of time comparing portable Bluetooth speakers. I was looking for a speaker that had plenty of bass. It is hard to determine if a speaker has good bass or not. Online reviews are often misleading, and many companies (like Sony and Bose) don't publish a speaker's frequency response range. JBL does, and this speaker has a range of 40 Hz to 20k Hz. This "boombox" speaker has a great sound, plenty of base, and true stereo. This speaker is a little pricey and a bit heavy compared to other speakers (14.7 lbs.), but the quality of the sound makes it all worth it.If you are trying to decide between this speaker and another, then visit "rtings.com" which does a nice job of comparing two different speakers. If this speaker is too heavy, then I suggest looking into the JBL Xtreme 4, which also has a good frequency response range, only weighs 4.6 lbs., and has a replaceable battery (nice).Still, this speaker is exactly what I was looking for and I highly recommend it!

We go everywhere with this speaker, on a boat, to the parks. Inside parties , the quality of the sound is excellent, and the Bluetooth connection is smoothly connected in seconds, the battery life is excellent

Item was received and looked like it might have been used, but Amazon immediately made it right and refunded the money and I am now about to purchase another one because even though it looked used, the sound quality was amazing

We use this when doing yard work or just sitting on the porch. Love it!

JBL with another hit. I love my boombox and is an instant head turner ANYWHERE I go and it doesn't even have to be one. The sound is clear and easy Bluetooth connection as well as the JBL app.

Had this on my wish list for over a year! I have a Jeep Wrangler TJ that needed a sound-system upgrade. I wrestled with idea of spending $700 for new head-unit, amp, subwoofer, and all four speakers... BUT, if I did, I knew the music would be limited to only the Jeep.So I figured, for less money (i.e. $500 for Boombox), I could not only have improved sound-system in the Jeep, but could also take it with me wherever I go. The question was... would the sound be worth it (or adequate) in the Jeep?When I saw the price drop a $100, I decided to finally pull the trigger. Upon arrive I immediately took it out to the Jeep and set it in the back (without the rear seat), turned her on, and played Kid Rock's "American Bad Ass". Holy crap!! I was so glad I got the Boombox! Sounds really, really, good. Not going to blow any windows... but the bass really hits well. Especially in an enclosed space like the back of a Jeep TJ. Plus now I can take it with me wherever I go.For added security, I also purchased a heavy-duty bike lock which I run through the metal handle on the Boombox, and around one of the roll-bars. Works great! (Also built little wooden stand out of 1"x2" boards to stabilize so Boombox doesn't roll around while driving.)Highly recommend.
