If you are a coach looking for a very loud whistle...look no further. The 40 Sonik Blast CMG is loud and effective at what is does. You will want to plug your ears if you plan on whistling as loudly as possible. My students have no issues hearing me across the football field at the opposite end zone. The only problem I can see some having with this whistle is if you like to chew on your whistles. The comfort mouth grip might come off if you chew your whistle.

My daughter is a life guard and has used this whistle for 3 years and loves it. In the life guard world the whistle has to be heard over all the people at the water park because each tweet means something different and it could mean a life or death.

As a lifeguard, having a whistle that can be heard over screaming children, music, and water features of the pool is very important.This whistle is the loudest I've been able to find and yet it is still very easy to blow. A short burst of air will create a commanding blast that is impossible to ignore.The lanyard included is high quality and will last for a very long time.However, there is a con to any CMG whistle. The CMG will not last forever. If you use the whistle daily and find yourself chewing on the mouthguard, it will slowly degrade and fall apart. It will allow the whistle to last longer than a non CMG whistle, however.Overall I would recommend this whistle to any and all lifeguards who work in loud environments.

The first time I blew this whistle it was screechingly deafening. I used this as a camp counselor and gym teacher during my classes. You will definitely have the attention of everyone in the vicinity with this whistle. It's real light and comes with a nice lanyard for your neck. If you have sensitive ears, you might hurt yourself though. This is top of the line because this is what the park rangers use. Awesome whistle!

I bought this for my hiking pack. It's loud, and comfortable to use. I love that it comes in so many different colors. The lanyard is very, very handy. I have purchased a second one in a different color for my fiance's hiking pack kit.
