REALLY POWERFUL AND SERIOUS TACTICAL FLASHLIGHT
Powerful tactical light. I mean one of the best. It’s more expensive than many good tactical flashlights; but I will always choose SOG dark energy serious for the incredible make and power for illumination and for emergencies. This light uses 3v batteries which I didn’t realize until receiving it. My preference is for AAA or AA regular batteries because of the ease of finding and replacement when needed. But I think I have been ‘enlightened’ with the 3v battery power. These are not ‘only rechargeable’ batteries; they can also buy in bulk or small numbers to replace in this tool. So even though I have a lot of tactical lights that are from very small and simple... to tac lights such as this. Different modes of function including the strobe. No zoom front piece; just a serious bright and large diameter of this light. This is a tool that you only need to buy once; or twice or......

GO TO THIS LIGHT... CAROL ANNE!
best flashlight i have ever ever own. period. i've had 3 different types of mag lights, a smith and wesson tactical night and a few different led hand helds. this absolutely smokes all of them put together. i was like... hmmm this is A LOT of money to put into a mini flashlight, but i'll try it out. 2 day shipping and BAM! opened this up, turned it on and was immediately blown away. my kids used to play with my tactical light, but this is the furthest thing from a toy. it could seriously damage a person's eyes if looked directly into. it is built like a tack hammer and i have no doubt to it's claim of waterproofness. this light is seriously too bright for normal use with the high setting. it's almost comically bright. all you'll do is $#%% off your neighbors! the low setting is perfect for just about any job/use. don't know if i'd ever use the strobe light, but it's there and works like a military style strobe light. the size is almost too small because i'm used to some flashlight girth in my hands when i'm using one. this is my second SOG purchase and i'm 100% convinced this is the best you can buy.

Perfect light
I have had this flashlight for two years, and it has never let me down. I am very hard on my stuff yet this flashlight survived everything I could throw at it and amazingly outperformed my expectations on things it is not designed for. Over the summer I was a summer camp counselor in Indiana, and I slept in a hammock for a week over a concrete pad, because I love heights, my hammock was about twelve feet off the ground. I must have dropped this bad boy over 30 times, and despite some paint scratches it seemed to be unscathed. Incredibly later in the summer, I vacationed in Florida with a couple of my buddy's, and I used this as a diving light in the freshwater caves and springs. We must have dove over three-hundred and fifty times down to a depth of about thirty feet and it never once leaked or turned off. Lastly, my family has chickens, and we regularly have predator problems, this is my go-to light being brighter than the sun at night I walk around with my .22lr and this flashlight looking for raccoons. I have no complaints with the flashlight and could not be happier with it. However, keep in mind this light consumes batteries faster than a Gameboy.

Piercing!!!
I love this flashlight. I've had it for about a month and I use it every night. I had a hard time justifying the price until I got it in my hands. It's small enough to stick into a shirt pocket, but fits my hand quite nicely. The weight tells you it isn't a toy. Very substantial. I have owned a couple of small Mag Lights and they just stopped working so I was leery of getting another little light. I'm glad I took a chance on this one. This baby will burn your eyes out, so don't shine it in anyone's face unless that's what you're trying to do. Get some extra batteries while you're here because you'll probably be using it a lot.

Good if you are easy on a flashlight and only need it to last 3 years or so
This is a keyboard commando's flashlight, and I don't mean that offensively. It's decent for light use, like checking out a bump in the night, and if you want to trade in your flashlight for a new model every few years, when you get the itch, it's a good option. However, it is not all that it claims to be. For moderate and above use, it will not hold up. Please, if you are looking for a flashlight to buy once (and cry once), that will last you a decade or more, that will hold up if you have to use it more "severely" from time to time, please save your money up and look at/buy a Streamlight or SureFire. Please, he who has eyes, let him see this review, and consider it.

Night time....Day time!
This is a great flashlight. It' could be better if it used a more conventional battery, the 123 batteries aren't easy to find but I just ordered a bunch online. You can totally disable someone with this thing, the brightness is fantastic. The strobe really disorients disorderly patrons and makes them much more compliant. You can use this hiking and be confident in it's brightness, you will see every bump and dip in the trail. The construction is fantastic, I dropped mine on many a time without detriment. I definitely recommend this light.

That it doesn’t work
I’m a rancher in north central wa. I’m sure I just got a dud. Light worked reall well for a couple weeks of light use, then it went super dim, replaced batteries, still super dim, hv purchased other items of this brand ang they were quality, where is your customer service number on this page, hate screwing around having to send items back, a trip to town for me is 45 miles one way

great little light
the price was attractive and the features were comparable to higher priced lights..I bought this as I was traveling- have not had any issues with this in my backpack through TSA checks...nice heft, and the length is just right form my hand as a strike tool (I shoot a G19) but the finish is wearing off a little quicker than I would like.With this and a SOG trident in my left pocket, I have to take the light out to pull out my stack of ID's/credit cards.

Falla el interruptor.
Un año después de comprarla, de repente se atenuó la luz, pensé que se habían descargado las baterías y las cambié, para mi sorpresa, seguía igual. Al revisarla, me di cuenta que el switch estaba fallando, al darle unos golpecitos, volvía a funcionar normalmente. Pero al presionarlo para cambiar de modo, fallaba de nuevo. Y no hay manera de desarmar el switch sin romperlo. Me molestó mucho, porque esa linterna la tenía en el cajón de mi escritorio, la utilizaba ocasionalmente, ya que la tenía como de "colección". Terminé por tirarla a la basura.

Used this flashlight for a few years now and its now my go to. Batteries are a little pricey but its a solid flashlight thats plenty bright enough for most applications!
