I would say that they probably don't look like "real" leather up close, but they are still super cute! And from a distance they probably do look like leather. I knew they were faux leather when I bought them, and rarely does faux leather look as natural as real leather. However, because of the detailing they don't look "cheap". I especially like the metal detailing on the straps on the back of the boot.. My feet are wide in the toes, narrow in the ankle, and I am pretty flat-footed, and these fit fine. The front of the boot is not too narrowly tapered so my toes are comfortable.. I have very slim/narrow calves, and I like how the top of the boot is not too wide around my ankles/shins/calves. Enough room for skinny jeans to fit comfortably, but not so loose that I can't wear leggings with them if I wanted. I tried them on and walked around the house in them a bit, and they're so comfortable! The heel doesn't have those painful wooden blocks in them, and they don't 'clunk' when you walk.
