Excellent smart watch
I bought this to try and keep me in the Apple ecosystem as I have been bored with it for a while now. The watch is just about keeping me Apple 😂.The AWU syncs with the iPhone seamlessly and I have actually used a lot of apps on the watch that I didn’t think I would. I have cellular and regularly leave my phone at home when doing fitness or taking the dog for a walk. I stream podcasts and Apple Music, and not having to carry the phone is brilliant. I use the native app , plus WorkOutDoors and Komoot for runs and hiking, plus the screen is very good for looking at maps and data. The only thing I don’t like is it doesn’t completely sync data with the fitness app when I don’t use the watch. Steps are different on the watch to the phone health app, and no matter how I try, I can’t get the steps added to the watch. I may download Athlytic for more data like I have on my Garmin Fenix 7 Pro.The build is solid, but I use a screen protector even though it is a sapphire screen. The battery life is okay, and to be honest, I charge each morning so I don’t have the anxiety I’ve seen others have about battery life.I’m not sure if this will keep me with Apple if the new IPhone 16 series are not worth the upgrade on my 13Pro.Do I recommend the Ultra, yes. Especially if you get it for the price I did on Prime Day. Also, if you are an Apple sheep, this is a must. It’s the best smart watch I’ve used. Mind you, if I go Android, it would be good to see how it compares to their Ultra watch.

BEST I HAVE USED
My first Appel Watch was Series 7, then Series 8, and I was happy with both. ThisUltra though beats them all hands down. The battery life is much longer. I can recharge every other night instead of nightly. I use it as a watch but also to measure all my metrics especially swimming. It is so easy to get to the swim measuring. Just one click of the button on the left(orange oblong) and it brings up all the sports types. Mine is Pool Swim, the first so very easy. I have owned many watches and the Apple an one other make measure accurately, both in terms of distance and calories used. I know it is accurate because I know the rather long formula to calculate by mathematics using a pen!It takes my 45mm strap easily. I have the titanium and it looks good. One can buy all sorts of straps including metal which one could use for going out to a dinner of something and it will look smart. As it has to be worn snug sports I don't use a metal one.(No one asks me out to dinner -;( ) I you use it t decide whether or not to have the heating on thru the night. It is accurate with the temperature.I use it to measure my blood oxygen and heart rate it always agrees with my oximeter. It tells me my average pulse during my swim which is important.I find it easy to use. It does so many things I have only mentioned the things important to me. I must add I connected this to my mobile account and it has proved very handy for quick calls. Both me and the person I have called can hear well.I doubt very much that you would regret buying this version of the Apple Ultra.

Great Buy
Bo0ught this refurbished. Although that was the description i really believe the only reason it was cheaper was the damage to the box, and nothing else. To all intents and purposes it was brand new. The only slight problem was it came with a small to medium strap, (oddly, the medium to large version was an other £200!). A tad small but not a big problem. I bought a few straps for it from Amazon (designed along the same lines as the apple strap but a tenth of the apple price) and they are perfect. All in all extremely happy with the deal. And the watch is absolutely fantastic. There have been comments about its size, but honestly, it does not look big once on, and the total depth of the watch is probably about the same as a normal watch taking into account the lugs.

Excellent but not necessary…
I agonised over whether to go from my Fitbit Sense 2 and spend the £800+ for this for a while before taking the plunge. I have an iPhone, iPad Pro and AirPods so it made sense but I wasn’t sure if it was necessary. My conclusion is that it is absolutely not necessary - even for those in the market it targets it is likely there are more suited watches out there (eg Garmin). But if you are an apple fan and have the disposal income to afford this it is truly excellent to use.Personally I am very happy with it - it is very easy to use, has great features and a 48 hour battery life that recharges quickly. It’s comfortable (I have the trail loop) and surprisingly easy to use like an iPhone including the keyboard for emailing and texting even with chunky fingers.

Definite improvement on standard Apple Watch.
Had a few Apple Watches from series 3-7.I would consider the ultra to be better in every way.The battery life for my self has meant instead of having to charge every night, you get at least two days between charging.I use mine as gps setup with phone, and one thing I’ve noticed is when a call comes through it sounds much louder on the Watch than it used to.I’ve owned normal watch’s with sapphire crystal screen and never managed to scratch the screen,so this is first time I haven’t had a case or screen saver on an Apple Watch which also makes it look and feel better than other Apple Watch’s.I would however mention that I don’t do any outdoor activities, others who do may consider a case or tempered screen. If I had to pick a fault,it would be the alpine loop strap I got with mine.Personally I found it fiddly taking it on and off,but the bigger issue was if it gets wet I didn’t like how long it took to dry out. This issue was resolved buy buying the sport band in 45mm which fits fine. The other issue for some people may be the size of the face,as it’s bigger than the previous biggest Watch face.
