Mrs. Potts Finds Thanksgiving: A story inspired by Dickens', A Christmas Carol Paperback – August 5, 2022

Beyond a touching short tale and superb illustrations, MRS POTTS FINDS THANKSGIVING is the ideal example of how we can now own a fresh new work of art online in seconds. While I'll get a paper copy as a gift--and I love real books as much as anyone--this digital version looks amazing on my ancient Kindle. It arrived in 30 seconds and I'm still trying to get the old stove in the background (see photo) to light on this chilly fall evening. Kudos to author and illustrator for bringing us an adorable short story for the price of a slice of pumpkin pie.

Mrs. Potts and her Thanksgiving transformation is a timeless story exceptionally well told. Alice Boatwright's writing is as usual elegant and unobtrusive - as good modern writing always is. And the story is delightfully transferred from Dickens' England to a cozy but wintery New England village. The illustrations are so well done and capture wonderfully the atmosphere of the piece. I believe it all works to give new life and relevance to this familiar tale of holiday magic. A little gem.

Alice Boatwright penned a delightfully illustrated tale of a Scrooge-like woman who finds her way out of her isolated life with the help of a sweet stray cat and the magic of the traditional Thanksgiving meal.

I bought this book to read with my 6 year old granddaughter. She is an avid reader on her own but enjoyed snuggling up with me to read this special story. She especially loved Hugger the cat. I can highly recommend this book, appropriate for all ages as there is nothing scary in it. In addition to a good story, the illustrations are charming.

What a clever and fun story, so timely for the holidays and the little ones!

One can definitely feel God's blessing begin to flow in the life of a lonely old woman who has turned away from all she loved.
