I got this "envelope" to store a print which I had gotten, but no longer have displayed. It isn't necessarily valuable, but I wanted to be able to store my print without it getting dusty, musty smelling, or damaged while in storage. From the description this can be used for storing, shipping, or packing artwork in. I have my print inside this container and placed everything inside a box with some bubble-wrap for added protection. The "envelope" is made from of a type of high-density, small, closed-cell foam that provides a lot of protection for what is inside. It is soft and takes some pressure, but resists the insides from being crushed. The description says it is also waterproof and has an acid-free lining. I didn't test to see if it is waterproof, but the Velcro seal and surrounding seams are very tight and strong. It is also insulated to keep whatever is inside safe from the heat or cold. I really like these and think they will work out very well for storing my artwork while they are in storage. I also have an old Pendleton trade blanket from the 20's or 30's and a great-grandparent's WWI uniform, that I think would also go into one of these well too. They provide instructions in the Amazon product listing on how to order the right size "envelope" for your artwork, which is very helpful. It seems like these are a little expensive. But for your valuables that have a personal value greater than an actual value, I think these are worth the extra cost.

The ARTPAKK Reusable Protective Art Storage Bag is an innovative product that lives up to its description. ARTPAKK bags protect both your artwork and the environment. All fabrics used in the storage bags are non-toxic, recyclable materials. Note these reusable art storage bags have a Velcro seal on the inside of the flap, making it easy to re-seal and store all types of artworks. ARTPAKK is an ideal storage solution for sculpture, large oil paintings, and all framed pictures or memorabilia. ARTPAKK Reusable Protective Art Storage Bag are designed with a cushioning effect in the middle layer that recovers after pressing. The edges are sewn together with strong fabric bindings to prevent the sides from splitting (weights up to 50 kg). The lightweight fabric lining of the Artpakk has ph. neutral properties, which is important for storing resin works or oil paintings. Plus both the inner and outer layer are water resistant, offering full protection from water damage. The breathable fabric's filtration properties also make it moisture resistant, and also resistant to chemical attacks. The ARTPAKK Reusable Protective Art Storage Bag is a top quality product, but I had to give it a four-star rating due to very high cost relative to other packing storing solutions.

A disappointment to find just one pocket, from image I thought there were other compartments.

This is a great size and my intention is to use it when we move house soon. If using for artwork, it has the benefit of being acid-free so it wont cause any chemical deterioration but in terms of physical protection it’s unlikely to provide much more protection than bubble wrap would have. I’m actually intending to use it for a mirror and whist it wont protect from a hard knock or being dropped, it’ll protect from scratches and gentle knocks and will be easy to just slide the mirror in and fold the flap back down, rather than using tons of tape and wrap!
