This timer was delivered on time and was an exact perfect fit. An easy repair that saved money doing it myself.

After running down the issue with my whirlpool dryer for a few days. I found out I needed a timer switch replacement. I went with this particular one due to it being able to be delivered next day. Once the product arrived, I hooked it all up and plugged my dryer back in the outlet. Once it was plugged in the unit started to make a ticking noise. I turned on the dryer and a very loud pop and puff of smoke later the whole house smelled like burning plastic. I immediately unplugged it and went to finding what happened. Once apart the plug on the back side of the switch was burned and extremely hard to pull off due to the melted plastic. Needless to say I am returning the timer switch and not wanting to get a return.

It was an perfect piece. It solved my problem. The price was reuable.

Symptom: dryer heats and rotates but timer does not advance in "timed dry" mode. Based on drawing, can only be timer motor or wiring (not likely). If same problem ONLY in "Auto", most likely the moisture sensor, but that was not the problem.Always concerned about aftermarket products, proper fit, etc and did a lot of homework (only 2 hours) just to not have to do it twice. Drawings all show the '10185985' model, including the drawing tucked in behind the control panel.... BUT when I removed the factory installed timer it is the Robert Shaw 10185982 model (appears to be the upgrade?) and matches all the different appliance website recommendations. This prysm timer has all the same markings, plugs, etc as seen in the photos, and when it arrived, also came with a "Robert Shaw" label (bonus)... So they are not kidding when they say it comes from the "same production line" ..... except the appliance websites want twice the price PLUS shipping... the only place that would match is walmart, but 3 extra days for shipping.... worth it and only 15 minutes to replace, no skill required, no repairman bill needed.
