Glass Fermentation Weights for Fermentation with Easy Lift Handles, Set of 4

Absolutely love these fermentation weights, so much so that I ordered two more sets of four. They are suitably heavy with a thick tab at the top for holding. I have kept the box they come in for storage qhen not in use.

These are four in a pack, at just under 7cm diameter, small enough to fit inside my new Lakeland fermenting jar. They are a good weight and pushed down the product in the jar. However, I also had to use small plastic preserving discs to hold down the apple slices which kept bobbing up above the brine. The glass disc alone was not wide enough to do this. CAUTION - I sterilized the glass weight and plastic discs in water, bringing the temperature up slowly. Unfortunately, i was careless with another glass weight which was cold, putting it onto a hot surface and it fractured from thermal shock. So now i have only 3.

Good quality and efficient

These do the job, nice weight and easy to clean. Only lose 1 star because there is a slight variation in the sizes which means not all of them will fit in the same jar. But I have a range of jar sizes so not a big issue for me. It might be a problem for someone who is always using only the same type of jar.

I use these for when I make pickles. They do the job and fit nicely in any size jar mouth I need them too. It sounds weird, but I think they’re pretty looking, even though they’re just glass. They’re easy to clean and I just pop them in the dishwasher. I haven’t used them for anything else but I’m sure when I do, they will do the job in weighing the items down.

This is the only size of weight to fit the Mason jars here. The rest (7 cm) are all too big to fit these mason jars but this one is a perfect fit. So if you've bought fermentation weights that don't fit, those are the right ones for you.

Found these to be exactly what I wanted although varying sizes would be better if I could get then so they fitted various size jars
