Worked great! Made trimming all the bushes around the yard much easier and did a better job!!
Well after reading the other reviews I was skeptical about buying one and thought if it didn't work well I would send it back. Well I got it the other day and today was the first chance I had to use it. It worked GREAT! First thing I did is before I used it I lubed the blades with some WD-40 and attached it to my Troy Built 4 cycle no issues, and it worked great!! I used it on a lot of hedges, I have 2 acres and lots of hedges that have needed trimming for a while. I like that the trimming blades are able to be angled in relation to the trimmer shaft. I have a couple of tall hedges and bushes that needed to be trimmed and the blades being able to be angled was a nice help. It is easy to adjust with the pin that you pull and adjust it. MAKE SURE TO WEAR GLOVES when trying to adjust the blades after you have used it for any time as the gear box where the adjuster is gets hot.. Gloves will help and also make sure to turn it off before adjusting the blades. I love this thing. It made trimming the hedges around the house so easy. The only thing that I had trouble with is that the trimmer and hedge trimmer blade attachment is heavy! I had to use a sling to support it as much as I could. But with the sling it was bearable. I did not have any problem that some of the others say they are having. No slippage, and it cut through the hedges like butter. Its a great tool and makes cutting hedges really easy and does a better job than my electric trimmer I used before. So maybe they have made some changes to the gear box or something but I had no problems at all with mine and it worked great! PROS: Well made, heavy duty materials. Tiltable cutting blades in relation to the drive shaft Makes reaching high bushes easy CONS: When placed on my Troy Bilt 4 cycle trimmer made it pretty heavy, had to use a sling.. Gear box gets hot, and that is where the tilt adjustment is. OVERALL I would recommend this equipment! I did not have the problems that the others had and it worked great.

Great price and very fast shipment
I bought this Hedge Trimmer because I was getting tired of my electric one and running the extension wire all the time, plus it was small. I had to make several passes to cut all the extension evenly. One thing I liked about the electric trimmer is that it is light and easy to maneuver. But that electric extension wire was a pain to unwind and wind back again. I even cut a small extension that I used to use because of the end connection was round and made it easier to connect to the trimmer until I cut it one day trimmer the side of the hedges. I have not used the new trimmer yet, but read a lot of reviews before I bought it and it seams very versatile. Being 22" long and attach to my gas power edger should be fast. I am giving it three stars for now for the fast delivery and great price. I will re-post when I get around trimming the hedges again, maybe soon, like tomorrow and if things work great, I will be changing the stars and my view on the trimmer. One week later after I received the Hedge Trimmer, I was able to use the it and I am very pleased and impressed with it's ease of use. I was able to trim my hedges within 30 to 45 minutes. It use to take me house with the electric trimmer I still have. I was able to use it straight and without changing the angle of the hedge trimmer as my hedges are about lower chest high. I also kept the it straight for trimmer the front and back. It was very easy to change attachments and I had no issues what so ever at first connection. I oil it before and after usage as per instructions. I do recommend this Hedge Trimmer because of it's easy connection and ease of use. Lets see if it stands the test of time.

Ability to angle the cutting head up to 90 degrees is critical for my needs
I bought this to use with my Ryobi Expand-It power head, to trim 150 feet of 6-ft tall eugenia hedge along the top. I also use it to shear the sides of other hedges (viburnum mostly). Seems a little pricey for an attachment, but it does the job quite well. At 5 to 6 pounds, its weight is noticeable when holding it up high for a long time, but it is better than dragging a ladder along and setting it in place every few feet. The included warning document says not to use it on a battery-powered power head, but I have not had any difficulty with it, probably because I pause frequently to re-position myself and rest my arms for a few seconds. It also warns not to use it with the extension pole, but I suspect that that guidance is driven more by difficulty controlling a heavy-ish tool when extending it out several additional feet than by it possibly not working. I have not tried the extension pole with it so can't say. It fits very tightly in my Ryobi, and in fact I have not been able to remove it easily thus far. Perhaps after a few times that will improve. But it works well and is far better than having to drag around a long extension cord!

All around a good tool at a fair price
This trimmer is a Exactly what I was looking for I tried 2 different units made by other manufacturers and was not pleased with the design and quality of them. I was on the fence about odering this one but boy am I glad I did they hit the mark on this one. It cuts thin and thick branchs very well. it cuts at different angles allow cutting from different positions. It doesn't get as hot as the others do ..... and it's super easy to manipulate the lever that moves the cutting head ..... I am running this with a ryobi 40v expandit power head .... so far so I just did a 5 min test run. So I will update this review if I find that it isn't messing up . But I feel confident that this one will do what I need. The other two I tried prior to this one didn't even pass my 5 min test run. .... as for the price I can't complain the cheap one I tried was in the 60 dollar range and the expensive one in tried that ryobi actually made was completely junk at 108 dollars ... so this one is good quality at a fair price I feel .

Works great with a Husqvarna 128LD
I bought this trimmer as an attachment for my Husqvarna 128LD. I was looking for a tool to replace my electric hedge trimmer while avoiding the cost of purchasing a gasoline hedge trimmer. This attachment has met my expectations. It was very easy to remove the string trimmer head and add this attachment. Simply losen the plastic knob, pull out the string trimmer head and slide in the hedge trimmer attachment. There is a ball detent that clicks into place (just like the string trimmer head) and then you tighten the plastic knob. I immediately put it to very heavy use trimming some Azaleas and other hedges in my yard. The hedge trimmer head worked fine and I encountered no problems. The overall tool, when connected to the 128LD power head is quite long, heavy and a bit unwieldy. It took some time to get used to the balance but I did appreciate the extended reach that this accessory provided. This attachment appears to be well made. All visible parts are made of metal. This attachment was a affordable attachment for the reliable Husqvarna 128LD and its performance has met my expectations so far.

Not what I hoped
Contrary to some other answers here this does indeed fit Stihl trimmers. You just have to remove the short adapter that comes with it. I have used the Stihl version of this for a number of years on a FS130 and FS240. Not as a hedge trimmer but as a scythe to trim the shoreline around a pond. And yes, this is admittedly an abuse of the tool but it works great. When I found this item that did the same thing for a fraction of the price I had to try it. This costs less than just a set of replacement blades for the Stihl. I doubted it would be as durable but if it lasted even a fourth as long I would still be money ahead. The disappointment came in that it just doesn't work very well from the start. It works about as well as the Stihl when it's about 80% dulled. It probably has to do with fact that is has about half as many cutting edges. Where as the Stihl has blades on both sides of both bars, this has blades on one side and anvils on the other. If you just do occasional light trimming this might work fine but my purpose it just doesn't "cut" it.

Very good for specific conditions
This attachment is probably my least flexible in terms of where it can be used effectively, but it is absolutely instrumental in those specific scenarios. My goal with this attachment was to to clear out some super thick briar patches that I just couldn't get into. Sure, I could use the brush cutter attachment instead but that kind of puts you all up in the "action" and makes it harder to not continually get stuck by thorns which is aggravating and unpleasant. Also.. a brush cutter takes much longer with the much smaller cutting surface. The first time I used these for that purpose I was fairly dissapointed. I didn't really take into account the larger brush that was all mixed in with the thorns and this thing would just choke up on that stuff and it made progress tough to come by. However I re-tried this past weekend in a different area. It could have been the fact that it was finally not 99 degrees outside and I wasn't getting exhausted after 2 minutes, but things seemed to go muuuuch better. I was really able to knock down some thickets quickly. When I did run into larger brush/trees I would just clear out around and leave it for the brush cutter or pole saw. Ultimately this really sped up my progress and allowed me to get through a lot more area than I would have been able to otherwise. I still have this idea stuck in my head that this thing doesn't quite cut the through the same thickness as my much weaker black and decker 20v hedge trimmers, but I would never attempt to use those in this type of situation.. it could be in my head as well as I haven't actually tested it. I have also accidentally let these sit out overnight a couple of times with no sign of rust or anything. They definitely seem quality made. I have the trimmer plus brush cutter and blower attachements as well and they have been nothing but solid. In other words these have been useful for my purposes. But if you are just a homeowner, trimming hedges you may be better served by a standalone unit like the B&D that I mentioned. Those are much lighter and easier to handle. But if you have an actual need to reach out with a little more power and you're not totally worried about complete uniformity then these will serve you well.
