dose this item work on a 2005 dodge stratus

I only have a aftermarket remote that wotks. Would this process still work for syncing this product without going to dealer or locksmith?

Do I have to have a working remote to program this new remote? Do I have to take it to a dealer 2 have it programmed. I do not currently have a remote

Will I be able to program this remote myself for my 2004 Sebring convertible? My current remote will lock/unlock the doors but won't open the trunk.
