Maximum of 1-5/8" diameter of your work piece!
Works great for aluminum! Haven't tried stainless yet? That will be the real test!

Be prepared to modify this thing to fit your lathe
Takes a little modification for it to work flawlessly, but it’s worth it

No scale included as shown, tool design and quality could be better.
First issue I had was that this is not the one in the photo, and it did NOT have the scales it claimed, so I bought a metal ruler from HF and will rivet it in and make a pointer (this will probably be better than what's on the photo anyway). I have a job to do and can't wait for a return or refund. I dont like the way the handle attaches, it forces me to have the cutting tool on the back side of the work, but this is something a welder can fix. And last but not least, the pivot action is rough, but not terrible.

it is what it is, functional but only marginally
Haven't used it yet as I need to make a raiser for it to fit my lathe ( Emco V10P) BUT initial impression is as expected, cheaply made, needs finishing ( deburring, loctiting screws etc) as another reviewer stated it should have a bearing on the pivot as I can see it will be a high wear point if used anything more than rarely but it should do the minimal work I'm planning on. Needs a scale on side for referencing radius it is cutting to at least get you in the ball park of what your trying for

Easy to Adapt to a Micromark 7 x 16 Lathe. Feels Solid.
A piece 2"w x 4 1/4"L x 1/8" thick aluminum and four holes adapted it nicely. I removed the tool post and slide, replaced the two 4 x 10mm allen screws with 4x16mm bevel head philips screws to attach and it came up on center. You may need shims. I have only used it twice but it has worked well so far. Just don't make heavy cuts.

Don’t be afraid of this. Works great.
5stars from a non machinist. I adapted this to use on a 9 in. South Bend lathe. Worked perfectly. Got an acceptable finish on my piece. No sanding or filing only wire wheel to shine it up.

The quality.
Was not able to use it on my lathe, but it's a well designed tool,

shipped without handle
shipped without handle and there's a gap on the bearing assembly that will lock up the rotating mechanism if you try and tighten the screw all the way i had to make a bushing to keep the screw from locking it up and be able to be tight enough to not loosen on its own

I needed to get a small ball turner on my 14"x40" lathe in a hurry and this was just the ticket. Since putting it on the compound had the cutter too high, I planned to make a riser block. But after examining it, it turns out rising the cutter holder from the rotating table is much less work and gets clearance around the chuck, allowing you to work closer to the chuck. At the same time it gets your hands away from the chuck. In my case I made a riser about 60mm wide, 60.5mm high and 5/8" wide. The only thing I ran into is that the groove in the rotating table was cut with a really chewed up endmill. You might want to make a cleanup cut. Otherwise it worked great. So far only tested in stainless but I'm sure other materials will be fine. Update: the pivot screw was loose because the washer gave too much clearance. To tighten the screw without binding up the bearings, I had to make up a few shim washers to stack under it. I expected some hand finishing at this price so I'll leave the stars alone.
