Very good product - excellent customer service
First - the lock itself. I take my dogs for long walks every day and had been leaving the door unlocked. After installing the Signstek Keypad Entry Door Lock, I am now locking the door and then easily opening the door after my walks. Before this, we would have to open the garage door to get in the house. This entry method through the door is much easier and doesn't make all the noise through the house as opening the garage door does. This was the second door I have protected with a Signstek Keypad Entry Door Lock, and unfortunately with the first install on this second door, the keypad didn't work well. I contacted customer service and was emailed quickly asking to describe the situation including sending media. I recorded and sent a video of my issue, and they replied that they would send out a replacement right away. I received the replacement and installed it to find no issues. It works really well. Note that the installation process is not simple. It isn't complicated either, but if you don't have basic carpentry skills, it is not a great idea to try the install on your own as you may end up with a non-functioning door. One bit of advice is to have the door be open slightly (ajar) and put something at the base that will prevent it from closing. This will prevent the door from closing in the middle of the process and may make it difficult to continue.

Easy to install and use. Sturdy-feels secure. Attractive design.
We replaced the old key-only handle when we purchased our home. Install and setup was simple. Works smoothly. Can be used with a key or 4-digit combo. Chirps for each digit entered, but all chirps are the same โtoneโ (unlike most phones which are different for each digit), so anyone overhearing the keypad chirps could not nefariously recreate the code easily. The locking mechanism, as well as the keypad chirps are fairly loud; but I do like knowing when someone is entering the house โso that is not a negative for me. This is not the only locking device on the door, but it seems secure and is convenient for quick entry throughout the busy day.

Flimsy & Disposal keypad lock
The battery housing has two covers, one on each side. The knobs on the cover are flimsy and easily breakable. Once the knobs are broken, the cover won't stay in place and the batteries pop out. It happened to me. The knobs broke but I hoped the batteries won't pop out. But, wishful thinking, after a while shutting the door a number of times, one of the batteries fell off and the lock didn't work. You got two choices then: either break the door or find the battery backup pack to unlock the keypad, uninstall it and throw it away.

Installed on outdoor Garage Door - Works great
Was looking for a keyless lock for my garage door. Didn't want to spend a lot of money and thought the best option would be a combination pad lock. While researching combination pad locks I came across the Signstek Keyless Electronic Entry door lock as suggested by my Amazon search. The cost was slightly more than the cost of pad lock hardware and a good quality combination padlock but a lot less than the other keyless door locks. The benefits of being a door lock with access from either inside or outside justified the cost difference of the pad lock option. So after reading the Amazon reviews I went ahead and purchased the lock. It's been one month, a very rainy month, since the lock was installed and I have had no problems. It was easy to install, easy to set up and I'm very pleased with the quality. This is an excellent product for the money and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a keyless entry. . Purchased a second lock for my home office door. It was easy to install and set up. Offers servers options for setting entry codes. Batteries last a long time. I am very pleased with this keyless door lock.

Really good lock for the money.
I have a lot of experience with keypad locks. I have worked with models from IEI, Marks, Alarm Lock, Isonas, as well as the consumer level offerings from American Lock, Schlage, and Kwikset. This lock is no Marks, or IEI, but it really does hold its own. Here are my thoughts on it, in no particular order: * Easy installation. If you know the difference between a phillips and a slotted screwdriver, you should be able to install this. HOWEVER: If your home was built in the 70's, look at the latch part of your door. The little thing that actually holds the door shut. If it just comes out of a round hole in the door, you will need a chisel to finish installation. If your door's latch comes out of a rectangular plate, with two screws holding it in, you don't need a chisel. * Easy-ish programming. Some locks I have worked with are so complicated, programming is a real pain in the eh... The only argument I have with this lock's programming is that you have a pretty short window to enter codes, but as long as you read the instructions, and make note of what you are going to do, it's pretty easy. * Solidly built! This lock feels more solid than locks costing 4x as much. I don't know if that will translate to a long lifespan, but we can hope. *Beeper is loud. I ordered two of these, one of them is mounted on my bedroom door. The beep is loud enough that it will wake up anyone who happens to be in the bedroom. I fixed this by opening up the keypad half of the lock, and delidding the beeper. Now the bedroom lock is silent. It took me 10 minutes to take the lock off, take it apart, de-lid the buzzer, and put everything back together. * You can't "unlock" the door. What I mean, is that there is no way to make the lock act like a regular interior door knob... the lock always needs to be interacted with in order to open. However, there is a "pass" feature, which is a reasonable compromise. It also means, though, that this lock cannot be "locked" per say, so you cannot use this for a bathroom, unless there is another locking method, such as a deadbolt. With programming, you need a few different codes. The lock can support up to 10 codes, but they follow a special format. The first number of the code determines what the code can do. Code: Function: 0 Master programming code 1-8 User codes 9 Passage code All 10 codes will unlock the door. Only after entering the master (0) code, can you add or delete other people's codes. In order to activate the "passage" mode, you must have a 9 code programmed. Whoever knows the master code can add or delete codes. This is handy if you want to grant revocable access to someone. "Cleaners, house sitters, etc.) To activate the passage mode, you enter the passage code (the access code that starts with a "9". As soon as the lock stops beeping, but before the backlight turns off, you press * # quickly, and a short beep is heard. At that point, the lock will unlock as soon as ANY button is pressed. This effectively makes the knob passable by anyone who understands the operation, and is pretty easy to do. To disable passage mode, you do the same thing. Another interesting feature is the "Encryption" feature. All this is, really, is the lock disregarding a bunch of useless numbers you enter. For example, in order to open the lock, lets say your code is 854321. You would enter 854321#, and the door will unlock. With the "encryption" feature, the lock will allow you to enter 8-482998563834085475834573943830480395048940-54321#, and it will still unlock. The numbers entered between the first digit, and the remainder of your actual code, are ignored, and the lock will unlock if the final digits entered match your code. This is handy if you have someone with you who is watching you enter your code, and you want to confuse them. Emergency unlocking is easy to do as well. There is a rubber plug on the bottom of the outside of the lock that you can pull out, and insert the backup battery pack into. This will power up the lock if the internal batteries are dead, and allow you access. The batteries are accessable from the INSIDE of the lock only. There is no key override. So, overall, I like this lock. The two things I would like to see that are not incorporated are: 1. A software code that will allow the beeper to be quieted, or muted. 2. A mechanical override on the inside of the lock that can force the lock into an always unlocked, combo unlock, or keypad disable (for bathroom use) mode.

Easy to install and setup
I have had one of these locks, this exact model in fact for 11 years. It was installed on an outside door to a small cupboard that houses our utility metiers and also serves as a safe area for parcel delivery, couriers each having their own unique code. Its been very reliable in that 11 years and has taken a hammering in terms of weather, tolerating frost, heavy rain, hail, snow and sunlight. Just the occasional spray of WD40 to keep the buttons freed up was all that was required in terms of maintenance. This replacement should give me as many years of service as its predecessor did, its exactly the same lock. Its very easy to set up, add extra codes and quite easy to install from scratch if you are not replacing an existing lock as I did. In my case it was a simple swap however. These are very good locks and the design has a proven track record for reliability in my case.

Installed Easily and Works Great ...
Installed and programmed very easily. Directions are clear and well written. Quality seems to be top-notch. This lock has solved a space issue where I could not use a Schlage (overall size is too large). I will update if there are any issues that develop with either reliability or finish, as some previous reviews have disclosed. I have used the Schlage digital in other doors for years and they have been unquestionably reliable so I am on new ground here. So far so good and this lock works exactly as advertised and looks fantastic. FOLLOW UP: This entry has been in use for over 10 months and has worked flawlessly. Original battery still works fine and the finish has remained good while installed on a shop door which is completely exposed to typical SE PA weather. SUMMARY: 8/13/19 This lock has been in service for almost 3 years now. Function and finish still perfect. I've only changed the battery once so far and did that as a preventative measure only, as there was no indication of necessity. UPDATE: 7/02/22 Function and finish still 100% ! Great battery life as well.

Not durable.
It worked good at first but now the battery's stop working every 3 days. The batteries are still good but the lock just won't open. I am buying a new lock and throwing this one out.
