GREAT chew!! Yes, it splinters
The media could not be loaded. My 9 month old german shepherd LOVES this coffee wood chew! He also loves chewing on wood sticks he finds in the yard, so is a great alternative. Yes, it can be relatively messy and have small splinters, but they’re not sharp. I wouldn’t recommend leaving your pup unsupervised for hours at a time with it though. I will say, a ton of reviews state how ‘dangerous’ this is.. If you think a small piece of wood is dangerous to your animal (assuming you buy the size appropriate chew) you should re-evaluate every big brand rubber, nylon, other brand of toy, or other items in your house/yard. This particular wood is digestible, and animals in the wild most certainly chew on sticks and survive just fine! :)

Good chews not dangerous imo
The outside end does splitter a little bit, but it was still soft. Once they get past the initial few chews it just turns into fiber. Just watch them for the first few mins and take away the little bit of the outside that splinters. I’d say this is way safer than the sticks they try to eat in the yard and has kept my dogs occupied. They make a mess but it’s easy to vacuum. It’s cheaper than bully sticks because they last so much longer.

Splinters terribly
The sight claims it does not splinter. It does in fact splinter. It has sharp edges and large pieces that are dangerously sharp and could cause severe injury. I happened to of taken this piece out of my dogs mouth. So disappointing. I recommended not to buy for possibly injury to pet can occur. My dog is a normal chewer. The edges are very sharp as well, and if not careful could cause a tear or something of the gum or maybe even a piece lodged into the gum, it’s that sharp.

May cause vomiting
I would advise against getting this product if your dog has a sensitive stomach. My dog started to vomit the next day, so we took it away and he stopped vomiting. I am sure it is a great product for others who can tolerate it. The other thing to look out for is how easily the wood gets torn off and swallowed.

Really a surprise
3 of my rescue pack are puppies, and well these puppies love sticks! lol Well, I started searching around, even ordered two of these from another brand through a pet store. However, these get a paws up review from this pack!, Not only do the other members like these, but the puppies really like these, and have greatly reduced the number of sticks, they actually seem to prefer these!Great buy, at least for my pack, surprisingly durable, and pooch pack approved!

Perfect for aggressive chewers!
My Penny loves the Woodies chews. Perfect for aggressive chewers. I keep several around. She likes to take them outside. So best to have many around to keep her busy. I like to get the different sizes for my other dogs too.

These splintered very easily!
These splintered extremely easily when chewed by my adult Cotons de Tulear! I consider these therefore to be quite dangerous as those small spliners and fractured off pieces can potentially cause damage to the digestive system and one of my adult Cotons actually got severe diarrhea shortly after chewing on one of these. One of my other adult Cotons did not have that reaction but I made sure to remove all the splinters and the Woody as well before it might be too late. So I made sure to not give these to any of my puppies!

Organic and made from Coffee wood
I received this chew stick from advice of a friend. I usually stay away from plastic or rubber chew toys. Woodies is durable enough and not easy to break. Also, I believe it’s safe for my pup base on the chart size. I think it’s a good value and can be used throughout the year.
