I ordered this for my desk for proctored exams at the online college I attend. At the beginning of my first proctored test, the lamp worked super well! I liked the brightness and the 3 settings. For some reason, 30 minutes in, I noticed it dimmed a LOT. When I was finished with my assessment, I tried to turn the brightness back up and it didn't adjust. Plugged it in and it worked again. I'd say a short time of maximum lighting, but 3-5 hours of med-low lighting. Overall -- not bad, could be worse, but definitely could be better.

The lighting is good but I don't like the base of light and I thought it moved horizontally. Not particularly happy with it.

Low brightness - not adequate for desk work

This is a very nice desk lamp. Because it does not need to be wired in all the time, it also doubles as a utility lamp or flashlight.It comes with an instructional leaflet and a short USB-A to micro USB cable. You would need to have a powered USB port to charge it (computer or power brick).The head flips open similar to a feature or “flip” phone. It opens up about 80 degrees, almost vertically. This makes it handy as a flashlight or a technician’s portable utility light.I briefly connected the included short USB charger cable to my computer’s USB speaker hub but it started making a high frequency whiney sound through the speaker, similar to a steam kettle whistle. I suppose the lamp generates a lot of electrical noise while charging that bleeds into the USB port. I felt the USB cable included was too short for my setup anyways. Instead, I used my own extra long USB cable so it could reach my USB charger on my surge protector. Connecting the lamp to its own USB power solved the audible electrical noise issue.The touch sensor button works very well. The lamp has four modes. OFF, white light, warm light, and combination white+warm. While charging and off, the touch button ring is illuminated amber. While illuminating in any mode, the ring glows blue. While both on and charging, the ring will appear purple.It’s a good looking lamp similar in style to Apple Mac computers. So if you have a Mac computer and coordinate your style accordingly, this lamp will complement nicely.Overall, a great lamp. Just be aware it is best to keep it on its own USB power brick. If you plug it into your computer, it may generate audible noise through your speakers.

I'll break down this review in terms of why I was interested in this lamp and then add some criticisms for where I think the product could be improved. My photos of are the brightest white setting, a dimmed warm light setting, the lamp on while closed, and a side profile of the lamp while off.First off, the reason I was interested in this lamp is that I wanted a light that was portable and also because I wanted a light without a power cord. My primary use case for this was to brighten up a space when reading at night, without having to turn on the lights for the entire area. In terms of these goals, I believe the lamp does the job. One thing to note is that this lamp had a gloss finish (which isn't what I expected, but this is at no fault of the seller). I would prefer a matte finish as it would also reduce fingerprints, but the gloss beige still looks good. I charged the lamp when I received it for a couple of hours and after that, it handled hours of use before needing to be recharged again. I have used it for multiple recharge cycles and have not noticed any deterioration in battery life. As described, the light has three different color modes and I tend to use the warm mode for reading at night. My main criticism is the dimming functionality which is activated by long pressing the button. I think having the on/off + color mode + dim settings all share the same button gives the lamp a clean look but becomes slightly annoying when I am trying to dim the light at night. I have to press the button a couple of times to get it to go to my light mode and then hold the button as it slowly dims or brightens. When first trying this feature, I held for too long and the dim "cycle" restarted. You have no way of knowing what dim setting you are currently at and what the limit is so you just have to time the press perfectly or stop early so you don't risk it going back to the brightest setting.

While I was looking for a moveable light to use for my adult coloring, I came upon this one and it had all the qualities that I was looking for in a light. It has the touch to turn on and either brighten or dim it, it is rechargeable, and it is easy to move from place to place. Exactly what I was looking for. This light offers three different levels of brightness. from the LED brightness to the dim room colored light. I have to say I do like that feature but I was expecting it to be a tad bit brighter than it is. I do love the fact that the light is rechargeable, and you don't have to worry about replacing batteries or lugging around a cord to plug in/out. So, if those are qualities you are looking for this will be the light you are looking for. The only downside that I have found to this LED/light lamp is that the battery charge doesn't last very long. A couple hours at most on the brightest setting and a few on the dimmer setting. The upside to this problem is the fact that is doesn't take long to charge the battery, a few hours for a full charge and then you are back in business, or you can also use it plugged in, but that wasn't one of the features that I was looking for, but if push comes to shove for you, that is an option. I would say that the positive features, as well as the great price point on this one, outweighs the fact that the charge doesn't last all that long. If you don't need it for more than a few hours at the time, maybe three at the most, this light will be perfect for you because I was thrilled with the quality and price! And the fact that, if need be, you can use it and charge it at the same time. I do recommend this lamp for all the previous mentioned qualities. And the fact that it is quite sturdy as well. This light seems to be very durable and has worked great for me now for the past few months.
