After reading this book, I feel more confident that I will not be making it through the upcoming apocalypse. I’m simply too corpulent and will likely fall prey to a pack of predators after I collapse from panic and exhaustion. A proper feast I will become. Nonetheless, a great read! Highly recommend!

It does contain a lot of information, but the pictures of things like poisonous plants and snakes, like all of these "reprints", are in black and white and very poor quality so they are pretty much useless. Kind of important information if you ask me. I wish one of these publishers would reprint the ACTUAL manual as it is distributed. Or at least let the consumer know that this is not an IDENTICAL reprint of the actual manual. The claim that it is complete and unabridged is misleading to me as the color plates are not included.

Fantastic book!This book is a must have for anyone who wishes to learn wilderness survival.This book is organized extremely well. All information in this book is practical and covers all topics needed to survive anywhere on planet earth!There seem to be many versions of FM 21-76 for sale. It is important to get this complete and unabridged version (which has the 600+ pages) because the shorter versions (which have less pages) may not have all the info this unabridged version has. I purchased one of the short versions a while ago and it does not have all the info that this unabridged version has.Highly recommend!

This manual won't show you how to become a nuclear power but it does have lots of information about survival in many different types of environment. Keep in mind that you still need to bone up on your specific environment. Shgould be on every outdoors person's shelf ...after reading it.

I am a survival instructor with 40 years of experience. My first full manual was FM 21-76 (dated from the 1940's and reflected the world at that time) and that was all I had and needed. This new manual contains a lot of information that has not changed because it works, but at the same time it reflects the world as it is now (which is not always for the better). If you want one book to form the core of your knowledge, use this one.
