This is a must for hockey lovers! A great addition to our Christmas village. It will fit the scale of most villages. It runs on batteries or an ac adaptor. I got the adaptor and it works fine.

I have had one of these for several years. All of a sudden it didn't work properly this year. It could have been due to several moves over the last 8 months and could have gotten damaged in the move so I replaced it. Saved the other two hockey players just in case and now it works perfectly.

This was 2nd time buying the skating rink. The 1st one broke. Long term craftmanship is questionable. However the now is working fine for now.

I loved this idea and thought it was super cute to add into my village, so even with a pretty big cost you don't always encounter with these things, I pulled the trigger. Not only did it just stop working after just a couple days, but also there is a LARGE battery pack that takes 2 "C" batteries and it's connected with a cable. Why on earth would the battery insertion not be built into the design?! The cabled battery pack is half the size of the piece itself, it's a pretty poorly thought design and is obviously not very reliable. Returning this immediately.

Like way the player and goalie move nicely. The goalie moves back and forth.

**UPDATE 12-4-17** For the past two years we had a functioning skater and goalie, that is once I took the yellow paper off the magnets on each player. However, now the skater is officially stuck! The internal gears no longer will rotate so the player just stays stuck, as does the goalie. I took it apart to see if there was something I could do and it actually works and rotates with the top off, but once I put the top back on, even without screwing it back together, it will no longer rotate. My son loves this, and it is really cute, but unfortunately it looks like our skaters will be benched. :(Original review - I love the idea of this but the reality is the skaters stick constantly gets stuck on one of the border snow mounds next to the goal. I would like to return it but my son loves it so much I will just have to deal with it. I thought of exchanging it but I doubt another one will be much better.

The only thing I don't like is that it is battery operated. Wish it was plug in. Uses a lot of battery so have to monitor how much it is used or I am constantly changing batteries. It is a great conversation piece. One draw back the skater no longer moves. It is intended that the skater skates and goalie follows his moves...after only a few weeks the skater does not move anymore so the goalie now seems odd to be making sporadic moves trying to save a shot that never comes. Would have added a video clip but pointless now.

Did not like the poor fit of the tree.

This item is definitely not worth $75. It is cheap plastic, the motor makes a "chugging" noise, and it appears not to move to its full capacity. Very poor quality and I am requesting a full refund. I was forced to give it one star rating otherwise I would not have been able to post my comment. Buyer Beware.
