Folgers Simply Gourmet Natural Chocolate Raspberry Flavored Ground Coffee, 10 Ounces

I am a chocolate addict. And a coffee snob. Spent a better part of 30 years sampling most of the flavored brands in the store and could not find one that 'hit the spot'. Am not a fan of anything raspberry but when I tried this brand I couldn't believe how good it tasted. KA-CHING!! Thank you Folgers!Good balance of chocolate, no chemical taste. Not overly sweet but just the right amount (of chocolate/raspberry) to 'tease' your senses. I used to mix a chocolate coffee with my favorite brand to try to get the right ratio and flavor. Those days are over. This is my 'go to' after dinner delight. Searching around for a second best choice of chocolate flavored but slim pickings out there. Great value.

I am VERY VERY VERY particular about mixing raspberry and chocolate. If it isn't done just right I will let you know in a flash! I am used to Godiva's Truffles so take that into consideration when I say this hits the mark about 95%.It's smooth and tastes really good cold. I would give them 100% if it had the creamier taste when hot. It needs a touch more raspberry creme to buff the smoothness when hot.Speaking of Godiva, I'll check their coffee out now and see if they measure up! :D

It's nice to try and it's really great that it's natural and not artificial flavors, but it smells better than it tastes. It tastes nice, just not a lot of chocolate or raspberry, if it tasted just a bit more like it it would be amazing! I haven't tried it as cold coffee with syrups etc maybe that makes a difference.

I first tried chocolate raspberry coffee last year at a little restaurant in a little village in the middle of nowhere in Kentucky. Every since then I've been trying to find the flavor. I'm so glad that Folgers now makes this flavor. It's amazing! I don't like hot coffee so I cold brew the coffee overnight. The chocolate and raspberry flavors are just strong enough that they drown out the bitterness of the coffee itself. I almost consider this a dessert! I add a little bit of artificial sweetener, some ice, and a little bit of milk and it tastes amazing! It's definitely worth the price!

I drink coffee for the caffeine so I really enjoy a good flavored coffee. This was a perfect mixture of chocolate and berry flavors both of which I love. I do not have to add all of the sugar I usually would (only half) and I don't add any milk because I don't want to alter the flavor anymore than that. It fits my taste and I actually drink more of it than my doctor used to say I would. I ended up ordering through Amazon because the grocery store that used to carry it dropped this on from the Folgers Simply Gourmet Ground Coffee products they carry and the other big chain in town wouldn't add the product to their shelves so when they told me to go online and purchase it I did, to Amazon instead.

I guess this brand of coffee must start to get stale, because when I first opened the package it tasted pretty good -- not excellent, but certainly not bad. I do not use only one flavor of coffee every day so it does take a few months to finish off a bag of coffee. By the time I was half-way done with this bag, the flavor wasn't doing anything for me -- could have been getting stale or maybe it was my taste-buds - but it started to have a chemical aftertaste. When I first tried it I thought I would buy another bag when I finished with this one, but changed my mind by the time I finished it. I have searched for years for a blend of chocolate raspberry coffee - but only found one that liked many years ago; none have come close since and that brand is no longer available (it was a grind your own in a local supermarket). Although I don't see a mention of it in the description, I'd say it's a light to medium roast - more on the light side.

This is really a matter of individual taste and preference. For me, this coffee has a nicely rounded taste of raspberry and chocolate and it is my current favorite. It is not a dark roast and does not have the astringent taste that is common to Starbucks. If you like the Starbucks astringency, you may not like this coffee. If you prefer a milder roast....and like the flavors of raspberry and chocolate, you may find that this is a winner. Coffee is somewhat like pizza...in that there are many kinds of combinations and tastes. Variety ensures that there is a taste that you will like and prefer. After all, half the fun is trying many tastes and finding your favorite. Happy tasting!!
