Copper Lock 10 ml No-Heat Liquid Solder, Pipe & Coupling Solder

Telling you what as in for not leaking and Fast clean hold.. This stuff is amazing .. bending the pipe back and forth under pressure yeah it will break but any mechanic and plumber knows compare it too locktight if you twist it enough or bend it it will break loose but a copper pipe in the wall or for a fix its as good as solder its amazing actually i never believed it would work... for the price and the big bottle you can do allot allot of pipe repairs for allot less money for solder and Map gas so a better value for the money for sure

I had some pieces of 1/2" copper left from a project and wanted to build a plant stand. I needed it to be secure and strong so I could pick it up and move it around and not worry about it coming apart. This worked great! I tried to pull the pieces apart and it is solid. So easy to use! I also purchased a similar one from my local Ace Hardware but this one was about 4x as big and cheaper and this one worked at least as well if not better.

I replaced my gas water heater and needed to reattach the copper overflow pipe from the pressure release valve. I don’t have experience with copper solder so this was a great alternative. Very easy to use and appears to be a solid bond. I honestly don’t know if I would trust it if the copper pipe was under constant water pressure but for my application it is perfect. If the pressure relief valve pops and water flows into the overflow pipe I am having a bad day and it isn’t going to matter if the pipe leaks a little!

To make sure the bond is sound use enough copper lock to cover at least 1/4” depth of the fitting before inserting first piece into the second piece. Standard depth of fitting assembly for copper pipes is 1/2”. This was the first time using the product and copper lock was about 1/8” depth on the copper fitting. As for waiting to dry,, I waited at least 30 minutes before applying some water pressure in the line. I gradually increase the opening of the valve to see if any leaks. I did have some leakage at a fitting so that will be a do-over. I find that this product is a very good substitute instead of using a torch, flux and soldier depending on your location. Need to make sure nothing gets ruin by using a torch or catch anything on fire.

Only held for about an hour and started to leak again. Used on copper pipe. Used four times with no success.

Wow! This worked great. A friend of mine said it wouldn’t work, but I had a rusted leaking receiver drier on my old R-22 system, I cut it out and replaced with a new one and used this to reconnect it and no leaks, system has been performing great for 6 months now. Even more impressive is that this is close to the condenser and gets a lot of vibration and it’s holding up great

Based on opinion. I believe this product would work in most cases. Cases that the joint would never have any considerable force upon it. I used it on a shower elbow. It held only for a short time each time. But because I believe it would work much better than any other circumstance but did not work for my particular job. I gave it the three star

Update! Jan 2020. I use this now only for emergencies like I can't either solder the pipe or even use shark bite fittings. I have had a number of leaks that don't start until weeks later. There have been a few good joints but not enough to trust this as a go to product. Would avoid if possible! Great product! I have been using this for emergency repairs or in locations where using a torch is dangerous like inside walls or if im just being lazy haha. I have used it on regular water pipes as well as heating pipes with 100% success. Just be sure you clean both the fittings and pipes like you would when sweating them. Also make sure fittings and pipe is DRY. Also if a seal fails you can just heat it with a torch to separate. I manage and maintain 70 family owned Apts and this product has help me out of a few serious jams. This also works on brass fittings and joining brass to copper. What is also great is it sets in a few seconds and will take full water pressure in a minute. I Just ordered another 2 bottles to have around for the winter.

My 2008 Yukon had one read defog tab ripped off. I tried a product from a store specifically to 'glue' it on - no good - completely disappointed. I used this in with a piece of copper tape which I got on amazon. The copper tape is conductive on both sides - yes - including the sticky side. Clean the area on the window so there is no dirt. I used a 1.5" long piece of conductive copper tape and taped it over the area on the glass where the tab is supposed to go. Rub the tape firmly on the window. Then, I used this product to 'glue' the tab to the copper tape I put put on the window. Prepare the tab by sanding it so it is shiny copper. I poured a thin layer of the red liquid on the back of the tab and placed it in place on the copper tape. Apply good pressure for 2 whole minutes AND DON'T MOVE IT. It stuck. I let it be for 10 minutes and then gently and carefully placed the electrical connected on the tab. I turned on the rear defog switch and used a multi-meter to determine there was voltage on the window. There was..and it works. It's too bad that they don't sell a smaller bottle. I only used about 15 drops in total. Good luck to you.
