Great book
Jeff Galloway's books on walk/run ARE the best. This is his latest and I LOVE it. I am resuming a run/walk exercise program to deal with weight, stress problems and just living a healthier, better life. Especially now, since I retired from a VERY stressful job as a schoolbus driver. This book deals with mind games/mental training (in my case, its RE-training) to get out there, NOT quit your workouts and keep going, doing the best you can. Jeff's methods are easy to learn and incorporate into your workouts. I think this book will keep me going ; NOT give up on the bad days, and enjoy the good days better. And its not just for races; oftentimes it seems, a workout is day to day.

Good for mental training, rest is fluff
The mental training part of this book has some good strategies. That's about half or less of this book -- then, it ventures into territory that is fluff/filler. There are sections on nutrition and race prep that are borderline ridiculous and make me definitely not want to recommend/purchase another Galloway book. There's a big section on essentially willpower over potato chips (poor potato chips take a beating here...) that could have been reframed into an actual strategy, but felt child-like. Same for the pre-race prep section that suggested no food on race day and one 8 oz. glass of water (?) but had LOTS of suggestions for Jeff's endorsed products post-race.
