The Star Tarot: Your Path to Self-Discovery through Cosmic Symbolism

The deck is gorgeous.This deck is based on the Golden Dawn deck with influences from RWS and Thoth. I am a RWS gal thru and thru so this will not be an easy deck for me to learn.The deck is loaded with symbolism and draws on and honors numerous cultures, making it a very modern deck.The illustrations are, for me, among the most beautiful I have ever seen. The Major and Minor Arcanas are both richly illustrated equally, which is not the case in many decks. The backs are dark blue with an 8 pointed star and are fully reversible.The cards are large with unfortunately large borders. Many of you will want to trim it. I wish I had the skills to do so. I wish the borders were smaller or not there at all, as they are a detraction. The cards are glossy and stick a bit. Between that and the size they are a little challenging to shuffle. The card stock is very thin.The thick companion book is detailed and of high quality. It has black and white illustrations with each card meaning. Symbols are fully explained.The set comes in a gorgeous, sturdy box.Overall, this deck is one of my favorites just based on this first perusal despite the card quality issues.I am giving this four rather than five stars because of the card stock and borders. What a shame.

OMG the artwork. I want to rate this deck higher because the artwork AND the companion book are just amazing, but the card stock is horrible! Not only is it glossy (I hate that), and has hideous large boarders (I HATE THAT), but it is also peeling already. I have had to tuck it away because I am afraid it won't last long if I continue to handle it. My laminate is peeling so badly that some of the actual card board or "paper" is peeling too. It's just the worst printing job I've seen. What a shame. I will use this deck for myself and gingerly, but I'm just too afraid to destroy it if i put it in rotation. I think Schiffer Publishing should reprint this beautiful deck on better card stock, WITHOUT the horrible boarders and send fresh copies out to those of us that waited for years to have this deck!It's beautiful, but I'm disappointed in the quality.

I had a very vivid dream that I was reading from beautiful cards that spoke to my soul in a very nurturing, light, cosmic, deep and profound way. So I set out in search of them. I went to the local metaphysical store to find them and they were nowhere to be found. I scoured the Internet and saw these. I got excited until I saw the reviews. Who wants flimsy tarot cards with big ugly borders? So I didn’t buy them. But I kept having this nudging feeling that I should check them out again. I bought them and I’m so glad that I did. They are gorgeous. The artwork really speaks to me. They are very intuitive and help deliver enlightened messages in a very magical way. That’s the best I can describe it. I have no problem with the card stock or the borders. Although I wouldn’t mind having a second deck that I could trim and foil the edges just for fun. If you are drawn to these cards you should definitely get them. They are my new forever favorites.

Beautiful packaging, lovely imagery, and detailed guide book(213 pgs).Not a set I would recommend for beginners, but if you are a collector and tarot enthusiast, you must add this to your collection.

It's true. Compared to other decks out there, the card stock on this one is stiff, the edges are rough, and they're a bit unevenly cut - especially at the corners. And yes, the laminate peels and scratches far too easily. It's also shinier than I'd prefer and the surface is a bit sticky (not smooth, like other glossy decks). All this makes the shuffling and use experience of this deck unsatisfactory. Like others, the first one I ordered had notable scratches on the card faces and peeling laminate at the edges, right out of the box. This second deck is better, but will not and cannot hold up to much real use. Which is a true shame, because the artwork is deeply moving and breathtaking. What good is a tarot deck that won't hold up to use?The cards are on the larger side (5.5" L x 3.5" W), with the artwork being maybe a bit too small for that overall size. The large borders could be cut down and the artwork enlarged. Or, maybe, cutting the borders as well as the overall card size down could fix that. The included paperback book is excellent, with detailed content. Seems like it'll hold up better than the cards, but only time will tell. The box is nice and houses both book and cards, although a bit awkwardly. All in all, I love this set. But the quality of the deck's card stock and printing holds the whole thing back.

I love this deck, that needs said first and foremost. I have the artist's original major only deck and love it. I was excited for the full 78 card reveal and still love the artistry. The card quality, however, is poor. My cards have some with poorly sealed edges and some with wrinkling when the clear protective coating was applied. For that reason I am returning them and will continue to enjoy the majors only deck. If the quality of production matched that of the creator this would be the most awesome deck!

The artwork is gorgeous and profound! I own probably over 100 decks - this is the WORST card stock of any deck I have ever seen. I took this deck out of the box shuffled once and 2 of the cards were peeling (see pics). HORRIBLE card stock!!! The worst. SHAME ON SHIFFER PUBLISHING for even trying to sell this to people!! Cathy McClelland should sue Schiffer for this. I will never buy another deck from this company. Save your money. If anyone knows where to purchase a copy of this deck by a bootlegger, let me know, as anything would be better. The artwork AMAZING! Just so sad that they've ruined it like this.

I am having such a wonderful time getting to know this deck. I am very grateful to Ms McClelland for sharing her wonderful work with us in the form of this deck. I would love to someday own one of her original artworks as she has fast become one of my favourite artists and her work really speaks to me. A lot of thought and detail has gone into the accompanying book and therefore it is a great companion to the deck, I'm glad they come in the set together. This deck has an incredibly meditative, transcendent, other-worldly quality that makes it a good addition to any deck collection!

I love the cards and accompanying book the art is out of this world😉, really inspires, the colours, the vibrancy, the imagery, the symbolism 😊😊😊The book really brings the cards to the spiritual , emotional, mental and physical,The book breakdown the human experience in a soulfully life enhancing way,I like to write out the book interpretations for memory retention and I find it therepeutic, like a mindful way of meditating as its like writing a magical spell for the subconsciousMy out come card for what this deck wants to teach me I got the 8 of cups"the key to the eight of cups is to accept the change that is beckoning and taking necessary steps toward the transition"

Love this Tarot deck. I had bought the Major Arcana about three years ago and had to wait for Cathy to complete the deck It is well worth the wait. The book is very informative too I am delighted with it.

Beautiful, powerful deck. Strong cards not flimsy, easy to shuffle, excellent book full details of each card,in a sturdy box. Very pleased with this purchase.

Currently my favourite tarot deck! I love these - the images, the energy and the guidebook is also so informative.
