Easy to set up, working great!
The media could not be loaded. We bought the 160gph unit for our 50 gallon "frog pond" in our garden. Instead of setting the solar panel in the ground with the provided stake, we drilled out the end of a cedar log, used it as a post, and mounted it that way. We'll get sun more consistently, especially as things begin growing in the garden and we can easily swivel the panel if we need to catch more sun. Please read the manufacturer's info before you buy- there is no battery for this, so when you have no or reduced sun, the unit doesn't run. (We knew this when we bought it and were fine with that.) It also doesn't take much of a reduction in sun for it to barely run. In the video you can see it running well and then I put my hand in front of the solar panel and it drops off to a trickle very quickly. As soon as I remove my hand it's off and running again. We were also aware of this aspect and expected it, just passing it along to others as it doesn't take very much of a shadow to slow it down. We were looking for something to aerate the pond a few hours every day and it will certainly do that. Very pleased with how easy it was to set up- we were up and running in less than 30 minutes. (We did buy tubing in order to create the little waterfall, the tubing did not come with the pump. It comes with fountain attachments.)

Powerful solar pump for your water fountain
I bought this solar panel for my water fountain in the backyard. I looked into solar panel pumps because I don't want to add the power line underground for my pump and solar panel pumps solves that issue. I do not have the water flow meter to verify if the pump actually pumps over 200+ GPH or not, but the water flow is similar with my wire pump.I give this solar panel a 4 out of 5 because it stopped working when the panel is partially block. Panel needs a full 100% sun light in order for it to work.Pros: 1. Very easy to set up.2. Cable is long enough to find a sweet spot for your solar panel.3. powerfully enough to pump 36in upward.Cons: need full sun on the solar panel for it to work. It will stop working even if you cover 1/10 of the panel. My nephew had a fun time playing with this as he enjoyed the jump went on and off as he walked over the panel.

2yrs old & still going 365 days a year
I thought since it’s the 2 year anniversary since I set up my 300 gallon, 6 ft round, 2ft deep pond in the Bay Area of CA this product deserves a review. I honestly didn’t expect such a little pump to last this long. I have it in a mesh bag in a filter box I made and I’ve had zero issues. I have lots of plants, mosquito fish and a pair of 9 inch comets. I clean the filter every 2 months April-October. Then pretty much leave it for 6 months if you can believe it. It took a few months for my pond to be established but the water stays crystal clear now without chemicals. Adding Beneficial enzymes/bacteria helped that first year. I only have to treat for string algae sometimes but that has zero to do with the pump. I keep it at a medium setting year round, it easily creates a beautiful fountain that would shoot 6 feet in the air if I let it. I do have to have additional aeration for the comets, and I only feed them twice a week. They mostly feed off algae, mosquito fish fry, snails , bugs etc. they’ve more than doubled in size since I got them so I know they’re not underfed. Needless to say, Perfect pump.

Customer Service
I rarely write reviews but I must do this today. 2 years ago I bought a 10 watts solar pump kits and this pump served me non-stop running for 2 years. I recently took the pump apart to clean, and accidentally broke the shaft inside. I bought finally it’s time to get a new one. But I call Solariver, and Brain was on the phone. I explain to him than with no question ask, accept for my Full name and address. 2 days later, I received the shaft in the mail. “Brain, Thanks for your awesome service!” But guess what, it’s not the right shaft. So I wrote an email to Brain to explain a wrong shaft I received due to weekend are close. And today Monday, I received a call from Brain, and off course immediately Brain said He is going to mail the right one today. And all this trouble i made, the shafts are free. Free? Here in the U.S.A? Yes..Solariver got good products and awesome service, you will never gonna regret. Highly recommend. I am willing to pay just for this kind of service.A good pump with a peace of mind for years to come is not easy to find. Trust me on this, you will not regret buying from Solariver.

Worked for 2 weeks OK then stopped. Not worth the $$$
Set up easily, ran OK for first two weeks. By OK I mean it worked great when the solar panel was in FULL direct sun, but a hint of a cloud and it's performance markedly decreased. I about expected this from other reviews, but I wasn't expecting it to be such a dramatic difference, more than a couple clouds in the sky and it wouldn't pump at all. After two weeks it stopped working completely. I think the continuous stop-start functioning caused the motor to burn out in the pump. That is the kind of life span I would expect from a $20 kit, not something with this price tag.

Sturdy!
We have bought two of these solar pumps for our bee pond and bird bath. The first one is 2-1/2 years old, the second 1 year old. The solar panels fell down (our fault) during a huge windstorm, neither solar panel broke, and they both still work! Note: if you have plants or fish in your pond, you need to use something to keep the water clear and / or clean the water intake area of the pump to keep them running optimally. In the summer I use a combination of MuckOff and API Aquatic Plant Food to keep the water clear AND feed the plants. Don’t know if it the best way but it seems to work. My plants are robust, although not looking their best as it is cold right now.
