We have two giant breeds and, while not pitbulls, they really like to work on a toy for about 30 min straight. Most other "tough" toys have lasted a few days until they find it's weak spot and chew off pieces. They have had a couplee of these for almost 6 months and they are still in decent shape. We would have gone through a dozen of the other types in this time.I belieeve part of the reason for it's longevity is the shape. It big enough that it's difficult to really get a ton of pressure on it. It's also hollow so it will give a bit which I believe makes it satisfying without losing it structure. BTW, the LARGE one is pretty big (I'd say you need a lab sized dog for thee LG). The XL is huge, more suited for a Great Dane, Mastiff, etc. I've never put food inside it so that might make a dog more aggressive on it but mine give it a good chewing and have only scrapped off a very tiny bit but no chucks.I've also got some of the old traditional Kongs that have lasted forever but my dogs like this shape better. I highly recommend the large kong for most breeds.

Kong is the only brand of dog toy that my dog can’t destroy. Every other brand on the market ends up getting eaten piece by piece until I find colorful rubber in his poo. He can chew this one for hours, and loves to play fetch with it.

My daughter’s dog can destroy a toy in seconds. This one last for a week or so before it was gone. So worth it in my opinion!

My 120 pound Labradoodle loves chewing on this. Great exercise for him and our 35 pound Springerdoodle loves tossing this in the air playing catch with herself. Great purchase all around.

I have a blue heeler/ Jack Russell mutt that tears up most toys. This is a little bit big for him, but he still loves to chew on it and chase it. It is going to withstand his heavy chewing.

Kong toys are a bit more expensive but you are buying something that will outlast most other products. My dog has three well loved chew toys, two can be filled with treats if you want. Also two Kong balls which sqeak and are still as new after much gnawing. A tennis ball would have the outer layer skinned and in bits in five minutes flat. Definitely recommend Kong pet toys as much better quality and robust.
