Well built but barely worked for my 2014 Ford Focus tie rods
I chose this design over the U-bolt style because it looked sturdier, had 1/2" drive vs. 3/8" and the overall profile was smaller (the area around the inner tie rod ball nut was very tight). It worked perfectly on the left side because the round ball nut was very rusty from water damage, allowing the pawl teeth to grab. However, the right side was clean and the two flats on the round ball nut were only half the width of the pawl and the tool just would not grip. I hand to grind the flat wider on one side of the ball nut to make it grab. In hindsight, the U-bolt style would have worked better for this application, but that does not mean this tool isn't the best choice overall. If I ever change inner tie rods again, I will certainly look closer at the ball nut and purchase the U-bolt style if necessary.

Awesome tool! Worked on my Nissan Titan!!!
This is an AMAZING tool! Took the old inner tie rods off my 2004 Nissan Titan in 3 seconds! Tip: use a 24" breaker bar for best results. 😂

Worth trying if you're on the fence
Upon initially finding this product I was skeptical but the rave reviews and the small investment (not to mention quick ship time) made it worth a try for inner tie rods on a Nissan maxima. I tell you what, its amazing! Once it bit onto the joint it stayed till it broke free...then the tool was next to impossible to get remounted. There were some clearance issues with sway bar and lower control arm but those are minor issues with how easy it made getting the ITR in and out. Thank you for a creative design and an extremely reasonable price point. Keep up the great work.

A good, cheap, lightweight socket.
Good idea for a design. I have used stud removal tools like this for years. Inner tierod have always been tough to remove, and the profile of this wrench fits in all but the smallest spaces, and it has a good range in size. I am glad they are cheap, because I am sure I will break it soon enough. For this price, I will keep spares, and consider them expendable.

Worked great
Product worked great. I was a first time inner tie rod DIY'er. I'm not paying a mechanic hundreds of dollars to loosen and tighten bolts. I bought three inner tie rod tools. The expensive tool worked fine on the first tie rod. However, I could not see exactly where that tool was gripping and the grip was weaker when I ran into an overtightened tie rod on the second side. This tool allowed me to grip exactly where I wanted to, as everything is in clear sight. You will need your extension and breaker bar if the tie rod is tight.

It WORKED !!!
Bought item a month ago in anticipation of working on my minivan's front end, which I just completed that work. On the left side inner tie rod the product work with ease as the tie rod came loose easily. However, on the right side the tie rod would not break free using a 30" breaker bar. Thus added a 48" pipe to the breaker bar and with a little effort the tie rod broke free. To gain clearance so that a breaker bar could be used with this product used 1-10" extension bar, 2-6" extension bars and 1-3" extension bar - and it still worked LOL
