Underwater Pen
I bought this pen to mark a bunch of new scuba gear. It worked great for that purpose, but also worked on the kids' baseball and football gear, karate gis, a cooler, and countless other items. The paint goes on like white-out, but dries quickly and has remained permanent on plastic and clothing. I highly recommend it.

Goes on dim on neoprene
Perhaps it's simply the nature of neoprene material. I was expecting this ink to go on like an ink pen, thick and glossy. But after applying it to a neoprene camera lens case (same as wetsuit material), the ink mostly absorbed into the neoprene and only left a dim yellow shadow of the lettering. The next morning I re-applied the pen to the same letters but it did not improve the result. My neoprene bags are marked and after some air travel the letters are still visible, so that's good. But I would have liked a thicker result because it really isn't "brite" at all.

Don't bother
This is NOT a pen. It's a pain applicator. The tip pushes in and releases the ink. To "write", you push the felt tip against the article to be marked, leave a circle of ink, then move down 1mm, push again to leave another circle, then move down another 1mm, lather rinse repeat. You get the idea. It took me 10 minutes to write my last name, which has four letters. Then, after one dive in a pool (not even the ocean), it all washed away from my wetsuit. Not a hint of my 10 minutes of work remained. This is not suited for SCUBA, snorkeling, or any OTHER water sport. In fact, I don't even know WHAT it is designed for. Perhaps as a booby prize gift? I really don't know. I'm glad that I shipped it back for a refund. There must be a better solution to marking water gear permanently. I can assure you, this is NOT it.

Really messy and does not work well
If you want something to dob yellow paint on your dive gear this works but it is not neat. It works OK on smooth things.
