Incredibly practical easy-to-follow recipes
I wasn't expecting such an easy, practical set of recipes considering its royal lineage. Unique book and very important for anyone looking to add to their repertoire of regional Indian cuisine. This would be Kathiawadi/ mid-west Indian

Nothing Special about the recipes
This is an absolutely ordinary book. There was no provision to return the book & get refund. I have wasted my money. Not worth the price at all.

Interesting Cooking Book from the Gondal Palace
UPDATED: January 25, 2023. After a thorough reading of the "signature" recipes mentioned in the book via various online reviews, I am in agreement with others such that the recipes are nothing spectacular or complex. As Queen (Maharani) of the House of Gondal in Gujarat, India, she could instruct her royal khansamas to cook and those would be extraordinary and complex. The recipes contained in the book are from her personal cooking repertoire, if that make sense. In a way—they are "royal" or shahi recipes of a Maharani; however, they lack "royal finesse and complexity" of a true royal cuisine. Does this make sense?I have returned the book for full refund, as the book wasn't work the 25 USD. If you're looking for true "royal or shahi" recipes. I highly recommend the "Cooking Delights of the Maharajas: Exotic Dishes from the Princely House of Sailana" by Raja (King) Digvijay Singh-ji of the House of Sailana.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------As an immense avid lover of pan-Indian cuisine, I was beyond enthralled to discover "Recipes of a Maharani" from Maharani Kumud Kumari-ji of the House of Gondal in the Gujarat State of India. The hardcover book was in perfect mint condition and because this order was sold and shipped by Amazon, the packaging was well done with protective bubble wrapping all around. The paper and printing quality is "royal." Kudos to the graphic designer (Melwyn Patel) who worked with Maharani Kumud-ji. It's simple, elegant, with the ingredients and method easy to understand. As a professional photographer, my utmost of sincere commendations to food photographer Pankaj Anand-ji for the exceptional quality of the food photography featured in the book. You will be inspired and encouraged to cook the recipes in your kitchen!Amazon didn't provide preview the Table of Contents for the recipes, do I provided the recipe contents only.
