Rohl 2303-0347 Brass Intermediate Handle Assembly

This did the job for us, fit perfectly and has held up. Our old one had worn out as the plastic bumper had been cut into over time, so the faucet handle just spun. I think it's important to review items like this as sometimes the replacements look like they'll work, but they ultimately don't despite being identical to the eye. In this case, this worked great, hence the 5 stars.

It installed easily, fits well and works. The only downside is it squeaked when I turned the handle. I resolved it by removing the handle and giving it a shot of silicone lubricant. My greatest concern is with the basic design of the faucet assembly. This part is definitely a failure point. However, that isn’t the fault of the vendor that provided it.

The reason you would need this part is that the handle on your shower valve has gotten very lose or broken off completely. the handle has a threaded cap that hides a long, narrow brass screw that pulls the handle up against this plastic part. you might also need that screw, which is not included in this item and as of this writing does not seem to be available from Amazon. I am pretty sure that screw is Rohl part# ZZ95087000, and it will be the most expensive screw you've ever heard of. I'm sorry, but if you search on the internet you'll find it at sky high rip off prices. also note that various websites warn against over tightening the screw, which can break the plastic part being sold here. overall, you are going to hate whoever installed the Rohl shower in your house, but repairing it for $100 is still much cheaper than replacing the plumbing to install a new mixing valve.

Perfect fit

Like the rest of you, I have experienced the frustration of trying to fix my shower handle but I finally succeeded!!! If you find that the screw is very hard to put in, it may be because the threading is not very good on the adapter and is causing the screw to be blocked. So when you turn harder, you end up breaking the adapter!!!! DO NOT TIGHTEN IF THE SCREW DOES NOT EASILY TURN!!!! Long story short I got a screw (and an extra!) at a fastener place that has every screw ever made in the world it seems, and we also got a little threader tool. ALL FOR UNDER $4. Yes, four dollars! When I ordered the second replacement adapter from Amazon, I tested the screw in the adapter first, before trying to install in the wall. I found that the screw did not go in easily, so I stopped, used my threader tool. Tested again, and then my screw went in easily. I installed into the wall, and I made sure not to overtighten. My only remaining issue is a little squeak but everything is working fine. Good luck. And it seems that others found that Rohl will provide a free screw so call them. And unless you want to risk breakage or getting a whole new shower, it may be worthwhile to get a threader thing. Sorry I dont know what it's called but it has like a sharp thread and then an end that you can use pliers to turn it.

OEM part at a fraction of the cost from the mfg. Good news is that this works great. Bad news if that what you pay for a Rohl shower system you shouldn't have to deal with $20+ dollar plastic parts. That has nothing to do with this item or the seller, rather my decision to buy Rohl. When they say ALL brass construction, it appears they mean external / visible parts... lesson learned.

My issue with the shower device by Rohl mirrors other comments. This shower device was part of a bathroom renovation done about 10 years ago. My contractor chose the hardware. I generally use kohler or moen. Out of nowhere the shower handle just fell off. I researched the Rohl device and to my amazement others had the same issue. A plastic cap that held the shower handle to the valve that broke off. Amazing that an all metal device has a weak plastic link that breaks fairly commonly from all the comments posted. A clear product defect the manufacturer should (but probably won't ) repair for its customers. The replacement part went on in minutes. I was thrilled because based upon other reviews this was the only plumbing fix absent a $500 replacement of the full shower device. I am ordering a second replacement part now as a backup. Amazon is amazing to have this part available.

What can I say? The Rohl shower mixer broke because it's plastic & a poor design. Looked online before calling the plumber. Amazon to the rescue - had the part reasonably priced. It arrived within two days - free shipping with Amazon Prime. My son fixed the shower. No harm. No foul. No plumber fees.
