Van Holten's Pickles - Variety Pickle-In-A-Pouch Sampler - 8 Pack

I’ll be doing a review for each pickle. I LOVE Van Holten’s pickles, I usually go to my local 7/11 and grab a Tapatio flavor pickle. it’s such a good flavor, spicy and crunchy!! So, I tried the Sour Sis today... it’s OK. It’s not the best, but I have to say, the pickle has a good crunch to it. I was so excited to open my pickles, that they weren’t too cold which, In it’s defense was probably why the flavor wasn’t all that great. I do look forward to trying my pickles throughout the week.

When I received these pickles, I thought I might try a bite and save the rest for later... but I ended up eating the whole thing. I LOVE pickles. I'm also very picky about them. I had the Dill Pickle, and it was great. A little on the salty side, but good flavor and great texture. Very crunchy and firm. I also ended up drinking the juice, which was good haha I didn't measure, but these pickles are probably around 6"? They're big. I'd consider it a great value for your money. I paid $14 for 8 pickles. With the large size, quality of flavor and texture, plus the novelty of it, I would pay that again. If somebody in your life is a Pickle fanatic, or likes novelty foods I'd say these are very giftable!

The pickles are great, but I am not a fan of "Hot Mama". That one is flavored like a cinnamon candy.

Delicious if you like pickles

It has literally been decades since I had a pickle this good! There are many nice pickles in the supermarkets, but the Van Holten brand reminds me of the old fashioned pickles I used to get from huge barrels at a general store. These Pickles are crisp and have a nice snap when I take a bite. I have been telling everyone I know about this brand. So many people don't know the difference between a dill and a sour pickle; Van Holten brand nailed it. I even love all the cute names as well. This is my brand of pickles from now on.

Fun idea for pickle loving teen, however upon arrival the taste is horrific. Like they’ve gone bad. They were soft to touch and smelled not so great. Pickle loving teen dove right in and opened one, I could tell by his face there was something off, but he kept eating. I asked to try a bite just to see if it was gross or if he didn’t like the flavor. It was absolutely disgusting, almost couldn’t swallow due to putrid taste. Told him not to finish it and throw it away. He poured the juice down the sink and the smel just permeated the kitchen, so disgusting. Do not recommend. Unfortunately we cannot return or get any money back, so it’s money wasted on seemingly spoiled pickles. Don’t waste your money. Extremely bummed bc the idea was so fun and I was looking forward to this gift being a fun one, now we have to throw them away and count the money as a loss. Im not one who usually writes reviews but I just want to save people spending the money and sharing the disgust. Very disappointing.

the box was fine and yet one of the pickles was dry inside the bag inside the package. I'm pretty sure it was leaking when it left the factory. These cost about $3 a pickle. I'm not going to all the trouble it is to get a refund. but I will think about it if I place another order.

Love the pickles so much that I keep coming back for more. I like the individual packets.
